Hello, I am writing a program for windows that makes use of the webcam, and was hoping to easily port this program to Linux using winelib. Does wine support devices such as webcams? I have no previous experience of programming in Linux, so maybe this is throwing myself off the deep-end, but my friend says that just linking to winelib and hitting the ?make? button should ALMOST work in most cases

hi i updated msi installer to v3 (Windows ? Installer. V 3.01.4000.1823) but after that i cant install any msi package every time i try it just brings msi command line option in a window and doesnt install any thing , it just like i typed just 'wine msiexec' how can i fix this? should i revert back to older version of msiinstaller? how?

This is the only software that I need to be windows free since my university posts the lecture videos in WMP 11 DRM format and I cant view them if I dont have WMP11 installed. Hey I managed to walkaround that you cant run the MSI installer for steam in Wine 1.01 , but i cant start the steam program. First i got that it crashed in update but i walkaround that as well, now i cant start the program steam, no error messege or anything.... Any ideas?

I have searched the forums and cant seem to find an answer. I have noticed that when i run games and programs under wine its only useing 1 core. While when i run native Linux apps they use both cores. Also the games and programs that i am running under wine use both cores when run under windows.
