Civilization IV (Direct2Drive)
I've searched all over the internet on how to do this, but only found that people have been succesful in running the Steam version of Civilization IV on Wine, not the Direct2Drive. So I did everything on this page: http://itezer.com/blog/ubuntu-linux/140-Civilization-IV-on-Linux-with-Wine-1-1-16.html Additionally, the Wine website (

Re: Civilization IV (Direct2Drive)
I could install Civ4 D2D, but I also can't find a way to get past the pop-up window of html/javascript code. I installed all the libraries that I thought might help. I tried copying the Trymedia folder, though there didn't seem to be any directory in my wineprefix that corresponded directly to Documents and Settings/All Users. I tried making it, I tried the Public user directory that I

migrating from samba 3 to samba 4
Hi all, after the news that samba 4 is now supporting user lockouts after bad password attempts we need to plan our roadmap on migrating from Samba 3 to samba 4. We currently have Samba version 3.0.7-1.3E.1 installed with (passwd) database as a backend. I would appreciate if anyone can guide me on the migration process. Our old server Centos 4.4 Samba 3.0.7 (Master browser)

Please share your mail setup with me if you are running samba4
Hi Guys, I had no luck so far getting openchange installed onto samba 4.1.4 and wondered if I am on the right track here regarding emails for users. I will appriciate it if anyone can share their setups with me so I can estimate what will be the best way forward. The plan so far. Run Samba4 as a file server. (this is working in a test enviroment) Run Samba4 as a DC with Active Directory

SAMBA4 - Domain Trust lost and not recreate
Hi Folks, my S4 AD works well since the end of december. (Thanks to Christmas) I also managed to create the incoming trust to an Windows 2008 Srv domain. Now the trust is broken. I tried the old reboot trick and so on. My last (stupid) idea was to delete the trust on both sides and recreate it using the management tools from Microsoft. But the creation fails on the samba4 site, complaining

samba - what happens if I say local master = No for samba 3
Hi all, another question on my roadmap to samba 4. I must admit that I am a bit scared of doing the migration from samba 3 to samba 4 and wondered if there is a simplified process that can be followed instead of the wiki... What happens if I selected (NO) in my samba3 config file ( local master = No ) and I Installed and booted a second server with samba4 on it... Will they be able to run

I see the new kernel available in the plus repository... is there some way to view what the differences are between that and the mainline kernel?

minimap and Leaderheads not showing up in Civilization IV
Civilization IV Beyond the Sword expansion. I'm using Wine 1.1.44 with the latest intel drivers (2.12.0) and mesa at 7.8.2. OS is GNU/Linux, Gentoo distribution Both the minimap at the lower left corner and leaderheads don't show up, showing just a black section on the screen instead. Also, some artifacts are showing up in forests and jungles. This is very different from the results

Civilization IV
I have never used Wine before. I got the game installed but it will not start. I receive the following error Error locating tag node in SetGlobalClassInfo function. Current XML file is: GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionInfos.xml I couldn't copy and paste the error so I wrote it down. The syntax might not be exact.

Trouble running Civilization IV on a MAC OS
I have a problem running the game... I've tried installing it twice now and it still doesn't run. The Icon briefly opens on the Dock and the disappears in a few seconds. Also, when I try running the command "civilization4.exe" it doesn't run and no error appears on the screen. It simply reads: ' Command results The command "/Users/adrianfurlan/Library/Application

Value too large for defined data type
Howdy, I am just starting to use rsync and now have an rsync server set up to back up our various machines. I recently started getting an error that is confusing and I can't find info documented on it. I searched the news group and found it mentioned but no solution yet. I get the error when sync'ing from a Solaris 8 machine to my Solaris 8 server. stat

Package documentation and rd.sty
Hi all, I've got a basic question regarding package documentation and rd.sty. I wrote my first own package, and now I would like to place the documentation into the appendix of another LaTex document. Seemingly I cannot simply \usepackage{Rd}, as this will modify the page-settings of my document. Is there a minimum style file which will just define the environments and commands needed for

Combined Marimekko/heatmap
Hi all, I'm trying to figure out a way to create a data graphic that I haven't ever seen an example of before, but hopefully there's an R package out there for it. The idea is to essentially create a heatmap, but to allow each column and/or row to be a different width, rather than having uniform column and row height. This is sort of like a Marimekko chart in appearance, except that
