compiling wine 0.9.41 | FC05 | x86_64
Greetings... With the end of life for official support for FC05 (early July), I'm now resigned to compiling key apps by hand for my FC05 box (64-bit, running on AMD Opteron chips). The gcc compiler is 4.1.1 (which may also be an issue for some apps). For the most part, this has been only 'somewhat challenging' - primarily because of 'issues' specifying the right libraries (32-

Re: Call of Duty 4 black screen and error
Same with me. But I have an older nvidia card. NVidia GeForce Go 7200 Driver: 173.14.09 Tested versions: wine 1.1.0 + 3D mark patch without dll overides wine 1.1.1 + 3D mark patch with and without dll overrides Compiled with gcc 3.3.6 It first shows a dialog: It appears that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare did not quit properly the last time it ran. Do you want to run the game in the safe mode?

FreeType 2.1.2
I upgraded FreeType to 2.1.2 and it broke WINE. Is there a simple way to link WINE to: "libfreetype.so.6.3.0" rather than: "libfreetype.so.6"? Or, is there some other way to fix it? -- JRT

Running Modern Warfare 2 on Ubuntu 11.04 Natty.
My hardware is Intel Core i7 4GB ram, Nvidea GeForce 310m graphics card. I installed my graphics drivers in Ubuntu 11.04 using the recommended techniques. My video drivers are noted as experimental however all features and 3D support is working in Ubuntu 11.04 gnome environment. I did not use the .run file downloadable from the Nvidea website. I have read the sticky about no sound. I have no sound

Re: Run Game In Separate X Server?
The solution provided does not work for me. I use a patched wine-1.3.18 (WinePulse). I try to run Call of Duty 4 in a separate xserver. Running games in a separate xserver works great for native Linux games, but I can't get it to work for a game that needs to start with Wine. For example, if I run: Code: xinit /usr/bin/env WINEPREFIX="/home/serrano/.wine" /usr/bin/wine

Hi, I'm new to Wine and I'm having some problems running Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1. The game installs fine, runs fine, speed fine, except that when in gameplay, I see about 20% fine (left of the screen) and 80% messed. I'm running version 1.7, which seems to be Platinum. Linux 2.6.35-22-generic, x86_64, wine-1.3.9. I found somewhere it might be some problems with

Rscripts is working fine as I run the command "Rscript /home/username/R/testscript.R 1000" for example, and a png graph is output as expected, and I can output it to any folder where I have permission
