Using Wintermute with Winebottler
Hi!
I'm new here because i'm desperate.
At first i'm not sure if it's the correct forum for that, because it's about Winebottler for OS X, and not just Wine. But i thought both belong together and so you could help. If i am wrong, just mention it.
I'm working on a Mac (Lion) and running WME (Wintermute Engine Editor for Adventure game development) on Windows via BootCamp

Dispelling Myths About Samba Encrypted passwords, NT_STATUS_LOGON _FAILURE and XP
Hi,
I've been using samba for a while now with relatively simple configurations.
I do however have a few questions:
* When using encrypted passwords with samba, is it possible to authenticate
users using the Unix user password(/etc/passwd)?
* When using smbclient I get the error NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE:
added interface ip=192.168.1.1 bcast=192.168.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0

What does this error mean and can I fix it.
This is true with OpenSsh 3.8p1 and OpenSsh 3.9p1. I am running on Sun
Solaris servers, both Solaris 8 and Solaris 9.
I send all ssh syslog messages to local3 via the sshd_config file. I
periodically get in my error logs the line:
Oct 4 15:29:36 wintermute sshd[14517]: [ID 800047 local3.error] error:
Could not get shadow information for NOUSER
I do not think this is interfering with any

DLLs not found if set to native only (vcrun2010)
Hi,
I've got a problem which is kinda odd.
I know how to tell wine that it should use native and buildin libs, but since today I have a problem with vcrun2010s dlls: MSVCR100.dll and MSVCP100.dll (I had never installed it since now).
When I set it to "native, buildin" the game tells me it has unimplemented functions, I should use the native version, so I set it to native only, which

Window isn't readrawn after beeing in background
Hi,
I've already made a bug out of this: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25160 but it seems only to happen for me.
I've asked others, e.g. the other test-result-submitter for Black Prophecy, no one has the same problem. So I think it's somehow related to my own wine-settings.
I'm using gentoo with openbox and wine-1.3.7, the following configure:
Code:
./configure

Privileges to create COM components
Hi,
I'm trying to install this patch: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=22440
Unable to create required engine components, check whether you have
appropriate privileges to create COM components.
I think missing privileges could be emulated somehow - but I just don't know what COM components are.
Is there a way to fix this?

Error / Unable to allocate enough memory
Hello,
I am having a problem with wine 0.9.45 through 1.1.3. I have an application that worked fine using wine 0.9.45 until I was forced to do a reinstall due to a bad hard drive. Now I always get Error / Unable to allocate enough memory when I run the application. Here is the command I am running:
MDCrack-sse.exe --charset=tesTES --algorithm=NTLM1 --minsize=8 --maxsize=8

Problems logging on from XP to Samba PDC w/OpenLDAP
I've been at this for a few weeks, and have read quite a bit on the
subject. I try to follow "Samba-3 by Example" as much as I can. I'll
apologize in advance
if my problems should be discussed elsewhere. Samba's involvement is
integral,
but I have no reason to suspect Samba is at fault.
I'll start by describing what is working. DHCP and DNS look fine. Samba

Fonts cut off (Dawn of War, wine 0.9.45 +)
I'm using wine 0.9.44 to run Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 1.51 (http://appdb.winehq.org/screenshots.php?iAppId=1918&iVersionId=2576) on Kubuntu 8.04
This works just fine:

However, if I use wine 0.9.45 or any later version, the topmost pixel of the fonts

compiz workarounds plugin and firefox on Fedora 8
On Fedora 8, the workarounds plugin is not working for me with regards
to Firefox menus. It seems to alternately treat the menu as a window
(with window open and close animations) and a menu (menu animations). It
alternates back and forth for any menu clicked.
I'm wondering if this is a build bug or a known bug. It seemed to start
happening on the jump from 0.5.2 to 6.0 of compiz-fusion.

F14->F16 Upgrade Results in Win2003 Server Client BSOD 0x7f
Hello,
I upgraded my kvm server from Fedora 14 to Fedora 16 and the only casualty was a Windows 2003 Server client that will no longer boot with and produces a BSOD. I admittedly know very little about Windows and this VM has been around - real hardware -> Parallels on a Mac -> linux kvm but it was working fine under Fedora 14. The client does boot fine under safe mode but anything higher

Wine does not use PATH for DLL search, is this a bug or feature ?
Hi,
I test both 0.9.44 and 0.9.45 and found that Wine does not use
PATH environment variables for DLL search.
My test application is a Qt 336 application, QSlider.exe.
QSlider.exe require both qt-mt336.dll and mingwm10.dll. If I copy
both dll to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32, I can invoke QSlider.exe
from anywhere and it works OK.
If I put both dlls to, eg. /opt/qt-3.3/bin. And setup

Team Fortress 2 (Half Life 2) trouble
Hi,
I've been in #winehq all day with this and nobody seemed to have any
ideas, so I figured I'd post here.
I recently installed TF2, which is an official HL2 mod. No problems
with installation. The problem is that when I launch the game itself,
it crashes almost immediately and I get the error in the attached log
(made using WINEDEBUG=+tid,+seh,+loaddll,+d3d,+d3d_shader,+d3d9). Thus

realtime app data formatting
On the wiki it say's that if you use the Goto commands you need to
replace ',' with '|' in the app data field. But in the examples it
uses '|' in place of ',' in the Dial command also in a couple of
places.
Is it safe to replace ',' with '|' everywhere in the app data field
when using realtime? Or should I still to substituting ','

I can share files and printers. Although printing is only possible after I

After that printing from clients is possible
when restarting lpd it say's:
permissions of 'file name' are 0755 not 600 and it is changed accordingly
Then printing from a client is not

Wine 1.1.1 bz2 Slackware compiling source problem
Hi,
I'm new here but I will try to stay and contribute as much as can.
I have forced to use a Slackware Linux distro because of some constrains.
In order to access some of my old Windows applications I use wine like most of this forum users.
I have downloaded today the bz2 wine 1.1.1 source and I have tried to compile it on my Slackware 11.0.
./configure command was finished without any
