Hi, In July I reported a problem I was having with R and the fluxbox windows manager (with Linux). The interaction of R and fluxbox causes CPU to go to 100% when trying to create even a simple plot. It is the R process that is at 100%. R with any other window manager was fine, and all other applications (that I use) seem to run okay in fluxbox. I have updated both R (2.0.0) and fluxbox (0.9.10)

Is there some way to do this? I've got the current putty (actually, putty-cac), pageant, and plink in my user's Downlods directory - neither he nor I have admin authority on his laptop, and Desktop support's teleworking today - but I can't seem to find a way to configure xming to look there for putty. Or is it start putty, *then* start xming? mark

Hi, I'm running Lenny with Fluxbox, interacting with R via Emacs + ESS. An ongoing aggravation with this setup is trying to get R graphics windows redrawn. For example, I may have 8 or 10 R graphics windows open, and I switch between them using Alt-tab. The problem is, sometimes the windows remain blank. Hi netters, Now I'm connecting from my local windows machine to a remote linux machine and launch R out there using SSH. When I tried to create grahics, like using plot or heatmap, I cannot see the output. Maybe a new R window displaying the graphics has popped out in the remote machine? I use WinSCP to connect to remote server with wine. I use Putty as a terminal, but it seems, I cannot use X11 tunneling to run graphical applicatoins from this remote server, although X11 is enabled in Putty. Is there a solution for that?
