The annoying FAQ of detecting Wine
Unfortunately, this is a FAQ, so I've added it. I based the answer on the last time this came around on wine-users; I'm not a developer, so please sanity-check what I wrote! Hopefully this will be useful in dealing with the actual problems people think they can solve by doing this. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-9c045f5ff1df8a1afef91e1152ca7f6a9684f116 8.6. New Ubuntu user, read FAQ, need help testing Galactic Civili
1) I read the FAQ. It say use wine 1.4. Synaptic says 1.3 is the latest available. Is this a problem? I have the PPA loaded into synaptic. 2) Database says Galactic Civilizations (2004 game from Stardock) works, but doesn't for me. Of course the last test is about 5 years old. I can get it to install and I can get the program to start running, but after configuring the galaxy things crash. I

difference between busybox and klibc (faq?)
Hello what is the difference between busybox and klibc? Say, I want to use an initramfs in order to mount root over nfs, I can choose to use klibc with ipconfig and nfsmount? But I can also choose to use busybox with ifconfig and mount. So what's the difference, and why and in which case one is preferable to the other? If it's a FAQ, I'm sorry, just give me the link Thanks

Here at Lumeta, I could never quite understand why our domain would show some boxes from one person's PC and others from another, after all, we're one domain with a Samba server, so what's the deal, right? Well, after reading the FAQ (
