Strange problems with WH_CALLWNDPROC hook
Hello!
I created a program which injects a DLL into the game creation tool RPG Maker 2000/2003 (RPG Maker is written in Delphi 5/6) to add features.
The DLL is injected by altering the code at the entry point. So there is some code run before the actual program starts. In this code, a WH_CALLWNDPROC hook is installed, and when RPG Maker opens its main window, some additional code will get

RPG Maker 2000: games won't run
Hello!
I've come across a problem with Wine (version 1.5.2) running RPG Maker 2000. The editor itself works fine, but I can't run any games; neither from the editor (test play mode) nor starting them directly by running wine game.exe.
When I directly run a game, this happens:
Code:
ranmaru at kodama: ~ % wine RPG_RT.exe
intel_do_flush_locked failed: Input/output error
When I run the

Problem with japanese programs
Hello.
I have a tiny problem.
I am running Character Maker (a japanese painting program aimed mainly for RPG Maker and the like).
Now on Windows, it used the default system font, but when I run it under Wine it uses an ugly handwriting font.
Is there a way to fix this problem?
It also happens with several programs which were originally in japanese (such as Melody Raiser [from the same author] and

error: no marshal_dump is defined for class Thread
I get this error periodically in backgroundrb.log, but only on my
production box (the one running ruby 1.8.5) - my dev box doesn''t get
this error. As far as I can tell, everything is working ok, despite
the error (I don''t really know how to determine if the jobs are
getting threaded successfully, but they are running, that I am sure
of).

1.1.29 no more mp3 support
Hi there
When I build wine-1.1.29 from source i get the error message:
Code:
configure: libmpg123 32-bit development files not found (or too old), mp3 codec won't be supported.
I do not get this message when I build 1.1.28. I was trying that to make sure its not a problem with a missing package on my system. I am using Fedora 11 x86_64. I don't know of any libmpg123 devel package.

backgroundrb script crashing on startup
Everything works fine on my development box (Ubuntu 7.10, Ruby 1.8.6)
but on my server (Fedora Core 6, Ruby 1.8.5) when I run
script/backgroundrb start, the process fails to start.
This is with Rails 2.0.2 frozen in the app, and I have the most recent
version of the plugin (r297). Is Ruby 1.8.6 a requirement for
backgroundrb now? I can''t figure any other reason it would fail...

Newbie:Family Tree Maker 2009 will not execute-Ubuntu Hardy
I'm new to linux so be patient. I'm running Ubuntu Hardy and have Wine 1.1.5 installed. After installing Family Tree Maker 2009 successfully, it will not execute. The screen comes up like it is going to start and says the database needs to be compacted and then the screen fades away.
I decided to run FTM 2009 from the terminal and see what is happening. Obviously a lot of things.

Hello.
I want to install Football Manager 2010, with 10.1 patch. It has a gold rating here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=18296
The installation should work fine, but not. This appears when I execute the setup.exe file:
Code:

Cannot activate Ogg plugin in XMMS
My machine is running RedHat Linux 7.3, and I believe it came with
vorbis 1.0rc3 by default. To my knowledge, I upgraded all libraries,
documentation, and binaries with 1.0 versions. it placed everything in
/usr/local whereas the old stuff was in /usr, so I manually deleted the
old stuff from /usr.
When I run 'oggenc', it does say: "OggEnc v1.0 (libvorbis 1.0)"
