I want to stick my models in a module
I''ve got enough models now that I''d like to separate them into
modules. For example, I have the class Player that I want to stick in
the Trainer module. I''ve changed the definition to
class Trainer::Player
I''ve created a models/trainer dir, test/unit/trainer, and
test/fixtures/trainer. Change the PlayerTest class to be
Trainer::PlayerTest. I get the

Hi guys, I have the strangest thing happening. The funny part is its
doing exactly what I want to do, I just don''t understand how.
Basically here is my model.

def self.names
names = Array.new()
for role in Role.find :all

Error message in vars package
Hi
I'm getting an error message with the roots() function in the vars package.
Even the example in the help file comes up with an error:

> var.2c <- VAR(Canada, p = 2, type = "const")
> roots(var.2c)
Error in UseMethod("roots") :

Question on R Training
Dear R users,
The R Project website doesn't seem to have any links devoted to R training. Are there any R trainers out there?
Thank you for your help!

Local R Training
Hello List,
I am new to R and statistics in general.
My two colleges and I would like to get some training in the proper
usage of R.
A quick internet search provided no results for the region of Basel in
Switzerland.
Does some one on this list knows of any trainers or schools in the
region in question or where to look next?

Gaming support with different hardware vendors (esp. ATI)
Hi all!
I recently got an ATI Radeon HD 3850 card and now noticed that with the
fglrx driver many games that look well in AppDB do not run properly on
this hardware (Supreme Commander ingame: flickering static garbage, Prince
of Persia SoT has several issues that completely garble ingame graphics).
Older games (not using shaders among other things) seem to run fine - need
to do more testing

Once again.Tinc for gaming
Howdy,
I would like to bring this topic up again. Gaming via tinc. We use
tinc-1.0.16 on Linux, Win7 and WinXP so far.
Setup was pretty straight forward. All the nodes have mode set to switch
and subnet to 10.0.0.0/24.
Ping works, smb shares work. Everything seems fine BUT connecting ingame
only works with 1 out of 5 games.
In some games, we see each other in the lobby. I conclude, that UDP

sensitivity tests fo causal inference
Hi all,
Following up on Holger's email last week:
Does anyone know if there exists a library that implements the sensitivity
tests for hidden bias for matched pairs and unmatched groups as proposed in
Rosenbaum's Observational Studies (2002: ch.4)?
Thanks.

X100P - FO card
Hello.
Does asterisk detect fax tones so it can switch to an extension where a
regular fax machine is ?
I've looked at the archives, and there seems to be a lot of debate about the
fax issue in general.
The last one, in January, I think, talked about a user that had fax tones in
his voicemail, but asterisk never switched to the ext. There was no
published solution to enlighten us to the

using winbind in pam.d/system-auth, double prompts fo r password
Greetings,
Try using the "use_first_pass" directive in your pam.conf file (or the
relevant file in /etc/pam.d/ - on my system it's /etc/pam.d/login). You'll
no doubt find more information in the relevant (PAM) man pages.
My /etc/pam.d/login line for winbind looks like this:
auth required pam_unix.so use_first_pass
