Natural Selection 2 (engine test) + wine 1.1.43
I usually don't mess with wine -- the program either works or it doesn't. That being said, I would like to get this game to run if possible. This is the output from console. It says that openal-soft needs to be upgraded to v1.12 but I'm at v1.12.854-5.1. Any help is appreciated. Desktop Notifications/popups = steam apps hard freeze?
I'm not sure if this is a problem resulting from my PlayOnLinux app for handling the wine based applications. However whenever I get a popup or notification from my Ubuntu desktop it causes the Steam application to hard freeze, graphically only though. Seeing as I then have to hit '`' and then quit (I have only valve based games) I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this

Steam won't start
I just tried to install Steam through Wine and PlayOnLinux. It installed successfully, but hung on the client update. I try to start Steam.exe with the command 'wine steam.exe' as well as the PlayOnLinux launcher. The window pops up for a moment, saying 'Connecting account', which then goes away and the program pops up an error message after about the money. Any ideas? Would the

which DNS backend ?
Hi Reindl, For me there lot of misunderstanding around DNS, especially when it comes to AD and a bit more when that AD is Samba AD. This thread just shows that once more time. I'm relatively new in DNS world and learnt a lot these last months, thanks to colleagues who are daily DNS admins and who accept to enlighten me a little bit. You claim to be a DNS admin and you said Rowland and you

auth default : passwd-file Can't open file: Permission denied
Hello, I'm attempting to migrate from an existing dovecot .99 install to dovecot 1.0.rc15 on a fresh up to date CentOs 5.1. I'm not sure what's causing this permissions error on startup - I've tried 777,644, and 600 chmods but it's always this same error: Feb 1 12:43:05 ns2 dovecot: Dovecot v1.0.rc15 starting up Feb 1 12:43:06 ns2 dovecot: Auth process died too early -

how do I find out which nameserver returns a DNS query?
Hi all If I do a "dig mydomain.co.za" from a Linux server, how do I know which DNS nameserver returns the queries? I seem to have a faulty DNS server, but can't see which one, so I want to find out which nameserver (if there's 4 - ns1.myserver, ns2.myserver, ns3.myserver & ns4.myserver) returns the queries? -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers CEO, SoftDux Web:

Quadratic Programming
Hi all! I have a little question concerning quadprog. To make it simple I'll start by stating the problem: I want to minimize h(d,delta)=0.5d^T B d +nabla(f(x))^T d +rho*delta^2 With respect to d\in R^n and delta \in R. I obviously have constraints (depending on both d and delta). Solve.QP does give me a good result for d but I cannot obtain anything for delta. Simce dim(Dmat)=n and

Mail delivery failing with 450
I'm not sure why this started, but apparently I'm having a DNS problem. Yesterday mail started bouncing with this error: 450 Unable to find obrien-pifer.com I think the messages eventually get delivered, but not sure. I guess I'll see if this one makes the list. I checked my domain using http://www.checkdns.net/ and it gives me a couple warnings. One is that there's no MX
