I have installed wine and then spotify, a game called tibia and winamp and tibia dident work so i uninstalled it but the icon's (tibia, readme and uninstall.exe) is still in the wine map.. So i uninstalled wine and deleted the .wine hidden map in home and the icons are still there

I am trying to install spotify with Wine on Ubuntu. I get an errormessage stating that "spotifyinstaller.exe" is not marked as executable. Hi I have installed CentOS 5 on my computer which has an Intel ICH5 sound chip. The card appears as it should, and I can adjust the volume just fine. However, when I try to play a sound file(.ogg for instance), rhythmbox plays through the file, but no sound is heard. I've tried as root, and I've tried doing cat /dev/urandom > /dev/dsp, and it's all quiet. Output from lspci:

I have some problems with sound quality in Wine when running Spotify. The quality is not as good as it is on Windows. There is a slight distortion (I guess that's the word) which doesn't exist on Windows. I've tried with OSSV4 and ALSA but it's still there so maybe the problem is in Wine. Is there anything more I can try? My soundcard is Audiophile 2496.

Hey Y'all, Recently my sound has been misbehaving. The issue exists when I play sound using Rhythmbox, Totem Movie Player, or even Youtube video in Firefox or Chrome. All my music applications were handling MP3s, FireFox was playing sounds, everything was sweet. And so I played some music in Rhythmbox.
