Dear all,
I'm planning to buy some IP phones with GSM audio codec support in order to

A vendor offer to me the SNOM 300 IP phone, that support GSM 6.10 audio

Re: Wine & GSM 6.10 codec
What's the difference between buying a phone without a plan and an unlocked GSM? Does unlocked GSM mean I can use it with any carrier, and just activate it with my carrier?

GSM codec problem - Windows messenger 5.1
Hi,
I'm using Windows Messenger 5.1 (It supports SIP) with
Windows XP to connect to another SIP user using asterisk in the middle.
The codec selected is gsm and I have a problem because the sound sent by
my machine reach the end point all wrong, it seems just noise...
If I use uLaw (or gsm from other machine with othe UA) everything works
fine.
I think the audio codec used

[Invalid ELF header] GSM audio codec in Ventrilo
Hi all,
I'm trying to run Ventrilo (voice chat) on WINE.
I have the latest version of wine.
I installed correctly Ventrilo.
Now I have to setup it to use the GSM 6.10 codec.
I read on-line that I only need to add "MSACM.msgsm610=msgsm32.acm" to
the system.ini file, and add the file in the /system directory.
I did it, but when I choose the codec GSM I get an error:

Ldap Samba and problems compiling
Hi,
I got 2 problems :-
1. I was compiling samba-2.2.7-4.src.rpm on Redhat 8.0 system and with the option --with-pam_smbpass. It always fail when I am doing a rpmbuild -ba samba.specs. The error is similar to the person who posted on
http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba-technical/2002-September/039415.html but no one answered him.
I was also compiling with the following extra options:-

Virtualisation of Netware?
Hi,
I am hoping someone can kick me up the learning curve (!) on Virtualization:
We have an old piece of data logging software that was written in Turbo
Pascal 6 using a file I/O module tuned to Netware and so it expects its data
files to be on a Netware server and will not access them locally or via an
MS/Samba share - essentially, it uses direct NCP calls for parts of its data
access.

Performance Samba 2.0.6 / FreeBSD 3.4 vs NT and NetWare
I'm getting samba setup, and it seems to be working. I have PDC/BackupPDC
issues to resolve, and want to change things so the NT PDC authenticates
users instead of setting them up using smbpasswd. Right now, I can access
the samba box from Win98 and WinNT workstation with "manually setup"
smbpasswd's.
I have been testing performance and am a little disappointed, I hoped samba

password stuff
Greetings All:
I hope everyone had a fun Halloween weekend (I carved 4 big
pumpkins and gave out a bucket full of rubber eyeballs and stuff).
I'm hoping somebody can explain the password behavior I've been
seeing (and a couple of other things). Here's my setup:
An isolated LAN (most clients have modems for dialling out) with
one linux/samba machine (RedHat 4.2, kernel 2.0.30,

'Twas a quick read, given that I'm the co-author. ;->
I recently received an odd inquiry from someone I didn't know at all,
