similar to: can't install winetricks

HI Trying to install Divx9 using winetricks. Using Ubuntu 8.10 and have cabextract installed, and my graphics card has it's driver installed (NVIDIA GEforce FX 5200). Installation seems to go ok but does not re-start machine and there appear to be error messages in the terminal window, despite the fact that it says DivX is isntalled. Attempting to get wine 1.1.16 working with Eve online, which requires the corefonts library. When 'sh winetricks corefonts' is entered, a spam of errors (below) appears. Hello all, newbie at linux. have installed Wine 1.1.17 and trying to use Winetricks to install the windows components to use with autoCAD 2006. When winetricks gets to the part where it connects to M/soft, it times out while waiting for a connection. Is there a solution to this or just keep trying? Cheers and TIA

All, I have been looking at zenity to pop up messages on the X screen. Is there another alternative to zenity that I have not found? I need to be able to completely remove the OK button, I cannot find a way in zenity to do this. also It would be nice to have a --timeout 5 option on the command line also. Any suggestions? Jerry

I use Wine for the windows programs I created with Clarion (Topspeed) environment. After upgrade from Mac OS X Tiger to Snow Leopard, I can't input any text in entry fields, using English keyboard layout. When I type something, I hear the beep sound, no letters appers on the screen. I even can't paste latin letters text using shortcuts, and the context dropdown menu doesn't appear
