Filled step-function?
Hello,
I'd like to generate a filled step-function in R as you can see in the
attachement (image is generated by grapher, but I need a freely
available alternative). The problem is, that I don't know, how to fill
it up. My code right now looks like this:
pH <- c(0,6.1,6.1,6.3,6.6,7.3,0)
Tiefe <- c(0,0,10,40,80,120,10)
plot(pH,Tiefe,type="s",main="Tiefenfunktion

nice time series viewer?
Hi all,
I am looking for a nice time series grapher/viewer in R ... with the
feature of scrolling, zooming, etc.
Hopefully it could be of the quality at the
report-generation-and-sending-to-boss level...
Could anybody please give me some recommendations/pointers?
Thanks a lot!

Job trend cross-over for Ruby/Rails and Java combo
See the graph at
http://tinyurl.com/35rnx4
For some time, I''ve been watching the three combinations
ruby + rails,
ruby + developer,
java + hibernate + tomcat
using the www.indeed.com job-trend grapher.
They have (after a long climb), finally reached parity.
Of course, you can pick different combinations and get entirely
different results.

Outlook 2010 very slow when using IMAP - are there any tweaks?
Hi,
though this is a bit of a side question, has anybody had an issue
while running Outlook 2010 with Dovecot?
The reason why I am asking is that I have setup a Dovecot 2.1.7 server
on FreeBSD which works fantastically with Thunderbird but Outlook
seems to be twice as slow in transferring information across??
# dovecot -n
# 2.1.7: /usr/local/etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf
# OS: FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE

OSX causing multiple CLOSE_WAIT's
Lately it never fails when I attach a Mac running OSX 10.5 that I get
runaway pid's. I tracked them down so far to multiple close_wait's:
# /usr/sbin/lsof | grep pbg5mac
smbd 24876 root 6u IPv4 80015755 TCP
yoda.wrenkasky.com:netbios-ssn->pbg5mac.wrenkasky.com:49381 (CLOSE_WAIT)
They can grow to over 100 if I don't catch it or nobody can log on anymore ;-)

OpenGL error in Wine 0.9.20
Hi,
Several people have noticed this OpenGL error when upgrading from Wine
0.9.19 to 0.9.20:
X Error of failed request: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest
Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 17 (X_GLXVendorPrivateWithReply)
Serial number of failed request: 384
Current serial number in output stream: 384
The program then exits.

Fw: GPD/GEV export results for plot
Hi all,
I'd like to export the results of GPD or GEV analysis generated with the Extremes Toolbox for plotting in Grapher or Excel (for manipulation by our publications group). Is it possible to access the data used to generate the plots in extRemes, or do I need to code the analysis from scratch and write to file?
Thanks, Ben

Consulta gráfica
Hola,
Por favor, ¿podríais indicarme qué recursos (librerías o ideas) pueden resultar de utilidad para crear un gráfico del estilo del de la figura 3.8 del siguiente link?
http://www.tsc.uvigo.es/BIO/Bioing/ChrLDoc3.html#3.5
Actualmente estoy utilizando funciones muy básicas y la verdad es que no me encuentro muy satisfecha con el resultado.
Muchas gracias.

Degeneration of CPU Performance
Hello everybody!
We have a interesting issue about dovecot behavior here. First, the
scenario:
We have 2 server running with the same load, one with our old pop3
solution (out of date) and other with Dovecot. We realized that dovecot
are comsuming more CPU, and this consumption is growing day by day. When
we starts dovecot, it runs between 40%-45% of CPU consumption and our

Medieval 2: Total War Golden Pack (with expansion) problem
Ok I know that this is supposed to be "garbage" on 1.1.7 Wine.
But I have Wine 1.0.1 on Kubuntu 8.10 on "i868" computer.
Also should I try installing only the main game without the expansion pack,
would it work.
Please help as I bought it in conviction it's gold on wine.
Thanks for help

You can have as many PDC's on a network with same subnet as you like keeping
in mind they must have different domain names - ie workgroup =

If you ever wondered about Samba and the Golden Penguin Bowl and that suit...
I got a message from the organizer, for the
first time the video feed of the Golden Penguin
Bowl is available....
So if you never saw me making a complete fool
of myself live, now's your chance to see it
second hand :-) :-).

Love is Golden: all ideas have and always will be.
I am delighted to be able to tell you that I have
taken a decision to relinquish Copyright ownership of
all Samba-related code that I have ever written.
I would like to take this as an opportunity to
formally request the Samba Team to reopen the case for
forming an ASF-like "Samba Software Foundation".
As you are no doubt aware, I started work on NT Domain
analysis in 1997, with Paul
