Reading from serial port
Hello,
I've got RFID card reader plugged in serial port.
cat /dev/ttyS0 ...gives me ID of the card I'm using => that's OK
As soon as I open the port with win32 appication via wine... I get no data from reader. Even cat /dev/ttyS0 does not work anymore afterwards.
I thinks it's because as soon as application opens it via wine some tty flags change:

Regedit issues, not owned by root
Hello.
I have been pretty satisfied with wine since I have become aware of its existance and am having a pretty good time with it. There are, however, a couple issues I can't wrap my head around.
First of all, I cannot run regedit as root, it says:
Code:
wine: /home/mokuren/.wine is not owned by you
I don't know how the root is supposed to "not own" something. This isn't

Adding a dir to PATH without using regedit (for an NFS install)
Hello Wine users,
I've installed Wine 0.9.32 into an NFS-mounted dir
on a RHEL 3 machine and it seems to work fine -
I've even modified the /nfs_path/wine/bin/wineprefixcreate,
so that an additional dir (c:/Perl) is created under ~/.wine
for each user (by mere linking to /nfs_path/Perl)
My problem is that currently each user of my Wine-installation
has to run "wine regedit"

regedit deletes serialcomm keys
Hi to all.
Finally I have COM1 on wine apps. I symlinked ttyS0 and added these keys
Code:
[HARDWARE\\DEVICEMAP\\SERIALCOMM]
"COM1"="COM1"
"COM2"="COM2"
But regedit deletes them.
If I do this
Code:
wine regedit serial.reg
wine regedit
I see the keys.
I open my program with regedit opened and I see com1 and com2
But If I close regedit, then keys

How to run wine regedit on crossover?
I know this is on crossover, but seeing as crosover is just a tweaked version of wine (or something) i thought you guys could help out. Just wondering, I'm wanting to play yuris revenge and red alert 2 on my mac using crossover. It works, but is slow, and so following this; http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/cat/?app_id=4149;forum=1;msg=56763 it tells me to run wine regedit. but i

regedit.exe notepad.exe and other wine substitutes
Hi,
Wine provides a variety of applications in the programs/ dir.
this include notepad, regedit, regapi, aviplay, ...
This programs (AFAIK) implements the windows equivalent of their
.exe with winelib.
However, some applications try to run c:\windows\regedit.exe,
notepad.exe and fail.
My question is, in a windows free environment, if I rename those
applications (to a .exe extension and its .so

regedit does not let me rename keys
I can not rename keys using the wine regedit GUI.
I had to create a .reg file in order to add the values I wanted to add, in this case Direct3D:
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D]
"VideoMemorySize"="512"
I have 64 bits Ubuntu 10.10 and Wine 1.3.7.
I did not find anything about this after a quick search in Bugzilla, is

Regedit problems-Guild Wars
I'm trying to configure guild wars to work, and that "Oh it works perfectly!" thing is really making me mad. I've been trying for a very long time now (off and on for a year), and I finally stumbled upon this:
Code:
If you are having graphics issues, use regedit to try some registry keys:

changed windows ver to 3.1: now winecfg & regedit hang
Greetings.
My problem is that using winecfg, I changed the Windows version to 3.1, and now nothing wine-related will load. The first thing I tried produced an error message that I neglected to save anywhere, and I have not been able to reproduce it. Since then, every time I try to run anything wine from a launcher, nothing seems to happen (though ps -e shows the process running), and when I try

How do I configure additional serial ports?
I have installed two 4-port serial cards (http://www.startech.com/
Product/ItemDetail.aspx?productid=PCI4S550&c=US) on a CentOS 4.4
system. The hardware appears to be recognized correctly, as kudzu
added 2 entries to /etc/sysconfig/hwconf and lscpi shows both cards
(output of lspci -vv for both cards included at the end of this email):

[PATCH] Win::Hivex::Regedit module for importing and exporting regedit format files.
This is the first part (of three) of a set of changes to support
merging Windows Registry entries from the common 'regedit' format.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=575738
This adds a Perl library Win::Hivex::Regedit which supports two
functions for importing and exporting the format.
I've tested this on some real output from the Windows regedit.exe
program successfully.

regedit fails
My wine version is 0.0.20050211-1
winetools fails to install dcom98 so I used the
Frank's Corner instructions to install it manually.
I'm also manually installing IE6. IE6 appears to
install and I'm following Frank's instructions to load
the registry values. winedmp gets control:
