Half-life: Day of Defeat problems.
Hey, I have been having day of defeat fps problems. It's like some maps I get a constant 90 fps and on others I can barely reach 60. I shouldn't be having fps trouble on a game that's almost 10 years old. So I was wondering if there's anything I can do to keep my fps at 90 all the time on all maps. So if someone could please help me, that would be great! Thanks!

Day of defeat 1.3 mic issues
Hey, I was playing day of defeat 1.3 today and people were telling me my mic sounds distorted. So due to the game being a game where the mic is needed, I was wondering if there is any way to fix it. So if you could please tell me how, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Problem compiling cairo-dock under CentOS 5.2
I am trying to compile cairo-dock from source (failing to find an existing
package for CentOS). I believe all dependencies are satisfied, but while
doing "make", at some point it says (I can provide the full make output if
it's needed):
gcc -g -O2 -o cairo-dock -Wl,--export-dynamic
cairo_dock-cairo-dock-callbacks.o cairo_dock-cairo-dock.o
cairo_dock-cairo-dock-dbus.o

A few weeks ago I reinstall my laptop with Debian etch (upgraded to lenny), kernel 2.6.27.8, wine 1.1.10, fglrx v8.11 (ati x2300) and Steam api version v007
There is no problem to launch Steam.exe (`wine /path/to/Steam.exe &`). However, after Steam.exe startup, I can not launch Day of Defeat. No specific error displayed on the screen, the `Preparing to launch Day of Defeat' dialog popped

(Some) HL2 games won't start but HL2 will.
Hi. I recently moved over my old home directory to a new box. The old one was running a some very old version of wine on Ubuntu 10.04 that I actually hadn't run in quite some time. The new one is a Debian squeeze with squeeze backports enabled. The new PC is running wine 1.4.
The graphics card in the old one was an Nvidia 9600 GT. The CPU was an AMD Athlon 64x2. The monitor was

Historical question
Hello Jean-Marc and all,
I recently had a talk with somebody about CELP. He said, there is this
federal standard 1016 (4.8kbps) with a reference implementation of the
Department of Defense (only on Sun, unfortunately, if I got this right).
This one is noticed in the manual already.
He also said, since there is this implementation of the DoD, nobody
would voluntarily re-implement CELP.

Hi!
I'm building an application which allows to dial via the Asterisk

X11() and XFree4.1.0 (and probably also MS truetype fonts)
Dear all,
I updated ('almost' painlessly =) ) the XFree version of my suse
distribution 7.1 (could not wait any longer as the screensaver was
crashing everything with irregular periodicity)... I have now Xfree 4.1.0
running (with OpenGL 3D going through the Mesa library), and I downloaded
MS truetype fonts (as suggested by Mr. Suse).
R seems to work... except (so far) the output of the

Platinum Blu-Ray Defeat the World
I ordered the Limited Edition Diamond Collector's Set,because I'm a big Disney dvd (http://www.seriesonsale.com/DVDs/Walt-Disney-s-100-Years-Of-Magic-164-Discs-DVD-Box-Set-24.html)fan. I was blown away by how nice the set really is. The box is lined in velvet with gold embossments. The lithographs are of pencil animation, so you get to see all of the animator's original pencil lines.

Steam/DOD/CS Issue
I recently installed Wine 1.1.10 on Arch Linux and got Steam up and running. I then installed CounterStrike and Day of Defeat and played them without any issues. I went to play them today and they kept crashing. Here is the output from terminal.
Code:
env WINEPREFIX="/home/user/.wine" wine "C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 300 -opengl

[PATCH 1/4] drm: retrieve EDID via ACPI _DDC method
Some notebook computer systems expose the EDID for the internal
panel via the ACPI _DDC method. On some systems this is because
the panel does not populate the hardware DDC lines, and on some
systems with dynamic display muxes, _DDC is implemented to allow
the internal panel's EDID to be read at any time, regardless of
how the mux is switched.
The _DDC method can be implemented for each
