gpo not working with samba 4 migrated
Hi,
I have migrated samba 3 domain to samba, and I have found that when you try
to use gpo this are not applied we receive in windwos event log errors with
permissions in sysvol, I have checked paths to sysvol gpos and are correct.
Also I have tried with a new fresh domain (not migrated) and with this new
install works GPO
How can I debug this problems and find a solution?
Thanks

Re-doing tdbsam
Running Samba 3.x with tdbsam. Its a small nework of 4
Windwos XP machines. Having a little trouble adding the
machines to the domain. pdbedit shows duplication
machines names and such. Since its such a small number of
machines, want to just start over with a fresh tdbsam as
it seems faster then trying to clean it up. Can we just
delete the existing tdbsam? Stop and restart Samba and

Samba4 server is not accessible for logon from Windows 2008R2 SP1.
There is Samba4 4.7.2 acting as standalone server on Ubuntu 14.04.x64.
Also there is Windwos 2008R2 SP1 acting as DC in the same network.
And also Windows XP/7 are in this network.
Logon to Samba4 is accessible from Windows XP and Windowx 7 but not
accessible from Windos 2008R2.
As logon to Windows clients is accessible from Windows 2008R2.

Unable to get proper ext3 functionality in recompiled 2.4.18-18.7.x kernel
I am trying to find out where to go in regards to problem mentioned in
subject line. Maybe you can offer some advice or, if not, then maybe
redirect to another organization or web site.
I have been installing just about every new release of the kernel that
has come out for RH 7.2. I have always recompiled these to a customized
version for my Tyan s1598/K6-III system. I do this so that only

Problems logging in
Hello People,
I am experiencing some weird Problems using samba on a linux server that is
supposed to connect the windows an Macintosh world in our production team.
So far everything works fine - i've set up a directory called "comon" that
is accessible from almost every Windwos workstation and almost every user.
The problem is "almost". There is actually one user, that

Optimizing Samba
Hello All,
I have put together a Samba PDC for a mixed Bag of Windows Client
workstations. We have a few Windwos 9x, some Win NT 4.0 and a handful of
Windows 2000 workstations. The server is operating fine as a PDC for all
workstations, all the permissions are properly set and things are running
mostly smoothly.
There are a few things that are somewhat slow moving on the network.

Runtime error: Undefined symbol, have fetched new CVS and recompiled everything
Hello there
Yesterday I updated my pwlib, openh323 and Asterisk from CVS. After making
"clean opt" in pwlib and openh323 and make "clean install" in Asterisk i get
an "Undefined symbol" error when I try to start Asterisk. As far as I can
see its when loading the h323 channel driver the error occurs.
Do I have to update other things as well, by reading the various

"LAPACK routine DGESDD gave error code -12" with Debian (PR#2822)
Dear All,
Under Debian GNU/Linux La.svd (with method = "dgesdd") sometimes gives the
error
"Error in La.svd(data, nu = 0, nv = min(nrow, ncol), method = "dgesdd") :
LAPACK routine DGESDD gave error code -12"
It seems not to depend on the data per se, but on the relationship between
numbers of rows and columns.
For example, if the number of columns is 100,

Possible VFS KPI and KBI breakage on stable/7
There are three sets of changes that would benefit stable/7.
Namely, there are
1. Improvements for the UFS unmount or rw->ro remount, that perform
suspension during the operation.
The changes depend on the the suspension mechanism path,
that introduced the suspension owner, and added new VFS OP
into the mount method table.
This might also fix the hangs with gjournal or

Ubuntu packages compiled with 2.9
Hi
I upgraded to R 2.10.0, and I encounter a problem with some packages on R,
installed via apt-get..
They are still compiled by 2.9 and give me an warning when I load the
packages. Will these packages be recompiled with R 2.10, or should I rather
switch to self-compiling?
Cheers,
Rainer

Recompiling dahdi-linux after kernel update - To minimize downtime
After a kernel update (but before rebooting) Is there a way to recompile Zap/Dahdi against the new kernel?
My objective is to eliminate the additional downtime that occurs while recompiling/installing zap/dahdi after booting into the new kernel.
Please correct me if I'm wrong:
My understanding is that until you reboot (after a kernel update), recompiling zap/dahdi still compiles against
