Whatever I want to do with wine is displayed with a very small font in italics. I need a magnifying glass to read any text. How can I change this for larger font and normal text? John

Misuse of get(getOption("device"))() in packages
Quite a few packages have used this construct to launch a device, but it has several flaws. It's not clear in most cases that a package really needs to launch a new device (R will do so if needed), but 2.7.0 provides a function dev.new() to do so. (If you really need this in a GPL-ed package that must run in R < 2.7.0, consider copying dev.new.) You cannot assume any arguments for

Can the WINE window be larger on high resolution settings?
I was reading this post http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=45535&sid=6957add8af3402a8afa68d8527121e2d and others like it looking for a way to make the content in the WINE window look larger. I mean to look like 800x600 resolution when the monitor settings is at 1024x768. So, I have typed this on the command line: Code: wine explorer /desktop=spider,800x600 spider.exe or wine explorer

Font anti-aliasing in wine?
One of the things that DOES make a big difference for me is font-antialiasing (AA). (OK, maybe I am picky). Does anyone have experience/knowledge on that subject? What surprises me is that for a few fonts (BitStream Vera Sans, for instance), it is active, whereas it is completely absent for most others. Why is that? (BTW, I just found out that I get the best results so far for the new MS font

Ogg streams on MacOSX
This comes from the Indymedia global audio list. How about setting up a software page on icecast.org with a list of players that work properly? Many players on vorbis.com will only play files on a hard drive, not streaming files, such a list would be very helpful towards promoting Ogg as a useful streaming format. ----- Forwarded message from nathaniel t <vsea75@hotmail.com> ----- The

Couldn't detect type of database
Hi, Olly, I have no idea what was going on.  I installed xapian from Ubuntu repos and had the issue.  xapian-delve and xapian-check gave me the same errors.  I've now build the libs and perl bindings from source and all is well.  I do not know, but I'm happy it's working again. Thanks, Jim. On 09/19/2018 04:23 PM, Olly Betts wrote: > On Wed, Sep 19, 2018 at 07:29:13AM -0400,

changing the magnification of axis annotation
Hi all, how do I change the magnification of xaxis annotation? I need a smaller axis text size in some of my plots. I tried cex.axix=0.5 in plot(), but this doesn't work. Boxplots over a Scatterplot
Hello- I'm new to R, coding and stats. (Oh no.) Anyway, I have about 12000 data points in a data.frame (dealing with dimensions and geological stage information for fossil protists) and have plotted them in a basic scatter plot. I also added a boxplot to overlay these points. Each worked fine independently, but when I attempt to superimpose them with add=true, I get a different scale for

Tinc not starting but not complaining either
Hi everybody, I've spent last 16 hours trying to get Tinc working on my two almost identical linux boxes. Both are running Debian stable with backported Openssl and self-compiled kernel 2.4.24 with ebtables-patch to enable bridging firewall. Both firewalls have both masquaraded and just bridged nets behind (LAN & DMZ) and they are working perfectly. Now I need to get from my home to

Can I scale the labels in a 'persp' graph?
Hi all: I'm using 'persp' for 3D graphics. I need the axis's labels smaller than by defect. I see in 'help()', the information about 'par()'. I have wrote: >par(.....,cex.axis=0.5,cex.lab=0.5) perspc(.................) and the result don't change. The question is: Can I change the size of labels in the perps graph?? Thank you in advance: /salva

feature idea for wine : stereo 3D
NVidia is pushing a 200 dollar product which is nothing more than shutter glasses and ties into DirectX 10, encouraging people to move to Vista, which I personally believe is yet another nail in the coffen of closing the PC platform. Now I think a better idea would be to add a feature to wine that permits stereo imaging to be added to any program that makes use of 3D features in wine, to somehow

zooming wine windows?
Hi, I have the following issue, and I wonder if Wine support such a feature. I have a game (Fallout 1), that natively runs in full screen, at a resolution of 640x480. The game itself does not support other resolutions. I have the option to run the game fullscreen with wine - which works fine. But this is not what I want to do. I can run the game in a window (using the virtual desktop feature

Listening to Ogg streams with MacOSX
This comes from Indymedia audio list, Whamb! should probobally be listed on the vorbis.com software pages. ----- Forwarded message from nathaniel t <vsea75@hotmail.com> ----- The whole world doesn't use Linux or Windows. Mint KDE 9: Wine problem with MS Office
Hi, I have the following problems with Wine on Mint 9 KDE: 1.- When I want to install MS Office 2003 from CD, I execute the "Uninstall programs" utility of Wine, and the CD Unit cannot be detected; it happens even when I run the Wine config to detect the CD device, it finds it but when going back to Install programs, the drive letter is not there. 2. I then ran the setup.exe program

WINE Icons.
Is there any way at all that I can remove the wine glass from icons of WINE? I'm trying to achieve consistency, and unless it's a .lnk(Which I don't want to use), I can't do that. My question is simply this: Can I remove the WINE glass and show only the raw file icons?

How does the cex parameter scale circles?
I'm wondering how the cex parameter is used to scale circles (i.e. does it scale the radius, diameter, area, circumference, etc.?). In my case I'm using lattice with filled circles (pch=19). Based on example, it looks like R scales the radius of the circle: library(lattice) dta<-data.frame(x=rep(1,6),y=rep(1,6),sz=c(1,2,4,8,16,32))
