3.0.23b domain member not accessible
I portupgraded my samba domain server and domain member to 3.0.23b from
3.0.23 and found that the domain member was not accessible from
workstations. The error message:
\\HOSTNAME is not accessible.
There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.
In the log.winbindd of the domain member, I found:

Changing password server to win 2012
Hi list,
My goal is to share a few shares from a solaris 9 host with a new win2012
domain. Im rather new to solaris (some years of linux exp, but samba has
been a LONG time ago)
The solaris machine has been created as a machine account in AD under its
hostname by the windows admins in the new win2012 domain. (Thats not me,
although I have domain admin access if need be)
I have an issue changing

STARTTLS does not seem to work
I believe I have the configuration set to use START TLS on IMAP4 (143)
and POP3 (110) ports. ?However, it does not seem to be working. ?Yet
"STARTTLS" is listed as a capability (which tells me I probably do
have it configured right).
In the session below, 172.30.0.24 is the mail server I'm putting up.
64.26.60.229 is an outside mail service. A similar thing happens on
POP3. The

Little doubt on Asterisk and EyeBeam
Hi,
Recently I been using EyeBeam with Asterisk. I can make calls
with video, I'm using two PCs with EyeBeam but I noted that I can't
enable only one client to stream video, I mean if I start streaming
video on one client the other one doesn't receive any video until it
starts streaming video itself.
So I cannot have unidirectional video calls. I remember this
problem with

Stupid Little Doubt
I'm reading the samba-howto-collection and just got a doubt.
Even using mysql or ldap I still have to have one user for each
username I insert in pdbedit (smbpasswd/ldap/mysql/etc) ?
There's no way to automatize it just like the add user command to
add machines in the passwd?

LMTools
Hi guys.
I need some help to try to make a license server work on Wine.
I am trying to port some engineering applications to linux via Wine.
If I can make it works, I can prove to my boss that we can get out of windows (finally).
I am trying to use softwares like i-Deas, Unigraphics and HyperWorks under Wine in my Ubuntu distro.
My problem starts in license, that uses the LMTools to get up.

Memtest86+ running time
I have run one full test and got no errors on the memory
module. Is it worth keeping it running overnight, just to
see if temperature changes will afect the test?

Block outgoing connections for certaing uids (root, apache, nobody)
Good morning
With iptables in CentOS 5 and 6 Linux - how can you please
prevent processes running as "root", "apache" or "nobody"
from initiating outgoing connections?
On CentOS 5 Linux I've tried putting these lines into /etc/sysconfig/iptables:
-A OUTPUT -m owner --uid-owner root -j DROP
-A OUTPUT -m owner --uid-owner apache -j DROP
-A OUTPUT -m owner

How can I install Wine on a computer without internet access
Hi,
Couldn't find the answer searching the forum.
I would like install Wine on a system that has Ubuntu 9.10 but NO access to the Internet.
I have another system with Ubuntu 8.04 which can access Internet, but the instructions at http://www.winehq.org/download/deb
seem to imply that it would install the Wine on my 8.04 machine.
Is there any binary I could download that I could put on a

modelo?
Muchas gracias

Hi
I have been using Wine to play Lotro on OS X 10.6.2 and everything has been fine until I upgraded to 1.1.35 yesterday. Now when I try to run the game I get a "Direct3D could not be initialised" error and in the terminal window I launched the game from the following errors appear:-
