Wine 1.2 breaking VSTs, making unusable/glitchy. these plugins have been platinum for a long time :( now are almost useless
hi, I posted about a week ago, when i had updated to wine1.2-rc6. I had warned that i had seen regressions in wine. This applied to Commercial VST instruments that i have been using in linux for about 2 years. At first, when using Jack-audio-connection kit (after the upgrade) i began to notice certain plugins were now causing Xruns, when they started up. this never used to happen. so i posted.

Native Instruments Battery3
Hi to all, I'm trying to run Battery3 with Wine, but I'm experiencing some problems. 1. When I launch Battery (command line) I see these messages: --- fixme:win:RegisterDeviceNotificationW (hwnd=0x50062, filter=0x32fcb0,flags=0x00000004) returns a fake device notification handle! ices-kh dropping jack ports unexpectedly
I've been having a problem where ices-kh (the jack'ified version) disconnects from its jack input source unexpectedly. This happens mainly while other jack clients are being started/stopped, or connected/disconnected, but also at other times (e.g. switching between different X sessions). I'm planning to do a bit more work on tuning up the jack setup to see if I can get rid of the

Wine + Wineasio + JACK + Various VSTs
Recently I've been browsing the app database and saw that it's possible to run Guitar Rig 3 and various other VSTs through wine and wineasio. And I did get it to work - the only problem is that there's a lot of humming noise on the input, a lot more than there is in Windows. Now, I know that this is probably because of the alsa driver or something similar but I didn't know where to

OpenMPT can use VSTs, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't use ASIO.

Wine question - sort of... program that ran now crashes
Hi, I run Gentoo on my audio box and for the last few weeks have been using a fairly complex setup that uses Wine-20040505. In this environment I am able to run small Windows apps called 'VSTs' under Wine and using Jack for pretty much real time audio performance. It had been working very well. From a Linux perspective the signal flow looked a bit like:

using windows vst plug-ins with logic 9 on mac osx lion
I have just discovered the existence of Wine as I was thinking of creating a Windows partition in order to process audio files using some of the great VST fx plugins (such as dblue glitch) that are only available on Windows. I could then import the files into Logic 9 on Mac OSX Lion for use in my music. A Windows partition seemed the only solution until I stumbled across the Wine website: I tried

TI Davinci DM Serias
Hi, I am attempting to port the speex library to TI Davinci DM35x Family. My questions are: 1. What is the best ./configure option for it? Is it ARM5e / ARM4 ? when I tried these two the during the compiled a warning "I suppose you can have a [ARM4/ARM5E/Blackfin] that has float instructions?" 2. is there any available demos for the echo cancellation because I can get it

Flac HiRes decoding problems
Hi folks. My first post over here. While working on a music server optimzation (which ususally goes hand in hand with running pretty low buffers on realtime streams) I figured that certain HiRez flacs were causing XRUNS/hickups on my Linux server platform. The interesting thing is to run into XRUNS even though the stream gets send to a Squeezebox Touch which got a 20s buffer on its receiving

wineasio 0.7.4
Hi all, The on-going development of wineasio continues with the release of 0.7.4. This release is primarily aimed at fixing a couple of bugs and addressing some JACK xrun issues. I'm most interested in hearing from people who are having xruns with the 0.7.x series but for whom 0.5 (or 0.6a) works. Regards, -- Peter http://sourceforge.net/projects/wineasio

wine and jack => segfault?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I am new to this list and just wanted to ask a question regarding Wine and JACK: I'm running JACK as my sound daemon and today I installed Wine (from the APT-Repository). I setup my .wine directory with the help of winetools. So far everything works fine, except sound output (tested with wmplayer and a simple wav file). So I selected

CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT=y possible in Dom0 kernel?
HI, Is it possible to specify CONFIG_PREEMPT_RT=y in the Dom0 kernel? It seems that it is forbidden as it is not a menu option in make menuconfig and gets removed if I manually add it to the .config. I want to run a sound server on Dom0 and am having problems with xruns at present, so need to be able to run a preemptive kernel. Thanks, Chris _______________________________________________

wine-20050111 - missing MSVCR71.dll
Hi, Much older versions of Wine didn't seem to uncover this problem, but newer versions (since 12/04 I think) do. What's the most likely cause of this and how should I approach fixing it on my system? My current setup is wine-20050111 from source. After it was built all existing .wine directories were deleted and wine --version was run to set them up. I have not used Winetools yet.
