Font config in Desktop Integration broken when switching locales
As a translator, It is frequent for me to switch between locales (en_US.utf8 and zh_CN.utf8 for me), but the font configurations in winecfg/'Desktop Integration' gets broken under certain circumstances. To demonstrate, I run winecfg with LANG=zh_CN.utf8, and set the 'Menu Text' (????) font to 'WenQuanYi Zen Hei Sharp' (???????) 10pt (shot00.png). It turns out fine

Unicode Font
Our Open Source Windows application needs a good, as full as possible, Unicode font for a specific function (this is to display most world-wide characters, including Korean, Indian, Chinese and Japanese characters, and is unrelated to the 'locale' being used). If it can't find one via calls to the API 'EnumFontFamiliesEx', it issues a message to the user saying this function

Parsing and deparsing of escaped unicode characters
In both R and JSON (and many other languages), unicode characters can be escaped using a backslash followed by a lowercase "u" and a 4 digit hex code. However when deparsing a character vector in R on Windows, the non-latin characters get escaped as "<U+" followed by their 4 digit hex code and ">": > x <- "I like \u5BFF\u53F8" > cat(x) I like

How to make UNICODE characters to display correctly?
I run WBridge5 (French version) under wine-1.1.1 on FreeBSD-7.0. It runs ok except for every UNICODE character is replaced by the little box. Also in some message boxes symbols that obviously should be some French characters that aren't part of normal Latin alphabet are replaced with Chinese characters. How to make UNICODE to display correctly? Thank you, Yuri

Unicode conversions from JA encodings
Background link for those unfamiliar: http://www.debian.or.jp/~kubota/unicode-symbols.html W3's suggestions for within XML: http://www.w3.org/TR/japanese-xml/ The nice thing about this document is it gives data for a bunch of different translation tables, and enumerates their differences. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: RIPEMD160 Hi, - From the Release Notes, I can see that there has been a change regarding new Tahoma font. Rails doesn''t like .rb source files saved in unicode ?
I think i understand that Rails (Ruby perhaps) does not like .rb source files written in unicode... it says it finds uknown characters. Can this ability be set in some way? F.ex, how do chinese developers code in rails? Just ANSI? I would like to add unicode support in an editor i am developing, but if RoR doesn''t like unicode in source files, then i guess it won''t be useful

[LLVMdev] Hazard recognizers & basic blocks
I am working on a target which has some structural hazards. To detect these hazards, I implemented a sub-class of PostRAHazardRecognizer. PostRAHazardRecognizer resets the hazard state on a basic block basis. So, how to detect hazards that may occur between the end of a basic block and the beginning of another basic block ? Thanks ! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

Incorrect characters in Chinese font
I frequently exchange e-mails, read and write documents and visit Chinese websites although the language of my computer is English. As I was translating a Chinese document yesterday, I had three characters I was not able to translate and after much hair-pulling realized to my surprise that they may be incorrectly drawn in Centos 7. These very characters in the same document were drawn correctly
