Run 32 bit apps on Wine x64?
Hi. I installed Wine and tried to run Briad game on a laptop with openSUSE 11.3 x64. It throws me the message:
Trying to load PE image for unsupported architecture (AMD-64)
err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception.
Which means Wine x64 is not able to run 32 bit apps, and I imagined it. I installed Wine through Yast, selecting the packages

C&C Generals Zero:Hour won't start on my 64 bit OS
I am using Archlinux 64bit and playing C&C Generals Zero:Hour. At first, I made
a 32-bit chroot as introduced
here(https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Install_bundled_32-bit_system_in_Arch64)
and installed wine inside it. Without even any configuration the game run
perfectly (in fact, even more stable and never crash than in Windwos 7 but a
bit slower). Then, I enabled multilib support and

Change Rscript and `/usr/lib/R/bin/R` relation
Dear all,
I am trying to use multiple version of R unpacked from CRAN deb files.
It does work successfully, except for some packages installation, whether
Rscript has been used. I have configured alternatives and switch R
environments without any problem and can install most of the packages.

How to access optical drive (cd, dvd)?
Hello everyone. I'm having a problem accessing my optical (CD/DVD) drive under WINE. What I would like to do is access it "directly" through WINE, i.e. whenever I insert a CD or DVD, I'd like WINE to detect it under it's E:\ (or D: or whatever) drive.
However, I don't know how to set this up (and even whether it's possible, but I suppose it is). My CD/DVD drive is

Bug#698237: xen requires openssl to build
Package: xen
Version: 4.2.0-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
When building the latest Debian xen 4.2.0-1 dsc in an Ubuntu raring
schroot I get a build failure due to libssl-dev not being pulled in. If
I build the same package
in a sid schroot it builds because libssl-dev is pulled in indirectly.
I think that libssl-dev should be added as a Build-Depends because it is
referenced
and required

-fsanitize=memory failing on 3.9.0
I've updated the arch linux bug (https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/50385) with
a patch for glibc in the arch linux packages that does fix the segment
fault for me.

-fsanitize=memory failing on 3.9.0
I've looked at the version of libc I have and its 2.24:
$ /lib/libc.so.6
GNU C Library (GNU libc) stable release version 2.24, by Roland McGrath et al.
I then cloned the gcc 2.24 sources as of today and the code that

also took a quick look at the Arch Linux glibc package

Thanks, Iain.
I am willing to hear from other users whether anyone else sees this as a

[OT]: scp setup jailed chroot on Centos7
[Sorry about "top posting": my OT question arises from the subject..]
Could someone elaborate on the "jail" under CentOS. I'm used to FreeBSD
jails, and as I run CentOS and some other Linuxes for quite some time I
was under impression that there is no such thing as jail under Linux [at
least those flavors I run]. Under Linux I did use in variety of places

[PATCH 0/2] A few Arch Linux specific changes
I''m attaching a few changes that are specific to Arch Linux and are motivated
by our recent switch to systemd.
System V init scripts are no longer used/supported on Arch Linux and,
therefore, the Arch Linux init scripts can be removed from Shorewall.
The two patches that follow are based against master; if it''s possible to
apply them to the upcoming Shorewall 4.5.13 as well,

Chrooted SFTP-only users along with normal SFTP
Hi!
I want to set a OpenSSH server which restricts some users to only
chrooted SFTP, while others have full/normal ssh, scp and sftp access.
Most or all guides on the web say that I should enable the config line
"Subsytem sftp internal-sftp" among other things, but I've found out
that this only causes non-restricted users to not be able use SFTP at
all, only the chrooted users.

AFAIK, for scp you need a proper shell.
I've done that exactly once (chrooted ssh) and it was such a pain that I
vowed to never do it again.
The problem is that inside the chroot, you need:
- nameresolution
- a minimal

I always sue -Syu to install packages, and I already
installed/reinstalled some packages today.
Now one thing comes to my mind : lots of pacman stuff are NOT in the usal place.
