How to disable the creation of gnome menu entries?
Hello,
I have disabled winemenubuilder in winecfg to prevent the creation of menu
entries in the gnome menu. But after I have run a setup I still see the menu
entries have been created in the menu.

Re: Wine menus - rebuilding, deleting
Thanks for the work you did on this - I needed it to clean out some messy entries in Gnome after moving a $HOME structure to a newer Ubuntu release - the original menu's had their titles messed up in ~/.local/share/applications/
I rewrote your script to use shell constructs instead of 'find'. I've copied it here for others to play with.
Code:
#!/bin/sh
wine="wine"

Duplicate *.desktop entries for GNOME in /usr/share/applications
Hi,
Today I noticed something strange. There seem to be a series of
duplicate desktop menu entries in /usr/share/applications.
Example: gedit.desktop and org.gnome.gedit.desktop
Other example: nautilus.desktop and org.gnome.Nautilus.desktop
This is annoying, since I usually edit some custom menu entries for my
users. Now, if I edit both files for a single application, I end up with

Wine menus - rebuilding, deleting
Hi
I have a few questions about Wine's menu handling:
1. Is there some kind of command that will build a wine menu based on
all the files in the standard locations (Start menu and Desktop)? This
would be useful for rebuilding the Wine menu after deleting it. (Since
deleting the menu entries belonging to a single prefix is not easy)
winemenubuilder seem to take only single shortcuts as

Wine and Gnome menus...
Hi all,
I've spent several days tinkering with Wine and have uncovered what seems to be a mess: Menus in Gnome for Wine applications...
I'm running Debian 4.0 (Etch) with a few backports, and Gnome 2.14.3.
I've progressed from the version of Wine that's in the Etch repositories, 0.9.25-2.1, through the one in backports, 1.0-rc1-1, to the current 1.1.1 from the WineHQ

Wine menu items?
Had a previous problem with a program not installing, in Wine, correctly, so I uninstalled Wine, but had to manually delete the Wine menu items in the Gnome 'Applications' menu list. After reinstalling Wine, the menu items did not install again. I can manually add the items to the Gnome 'Applications' menu, but do not know what the true names of the Wine applications that are

Open With "A Wine Application": a ridiculous amount of trash
How do I remove all the "A Wine Application" entries (http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/1413/winetrash.png) from gnome's Open With > Add Application dialog?
As well, for almost every file type I had when wine started doing this, there's an entry in gnome's right-click menu (http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4291/winejunk.png) to open with "A Wine Application".

Turning off Wine Applications menu integration
Hi there,
I've recently noticed that wine now has a desktop menu integration,
however it follows exactly the windows menu layout and this is annoying.
The problem with this IMHO is that windows menus are a sprawling mess,
this is part of the reason the freedesktop.org standard for desktop
menus was established in the first place. Having to walk a long set of
menus to get to what you want

Wine icons for Windows applications
Hi,
The latest version of Wine on a Ubuntu/Gnome system automatically creates the correct icons when shortcuts are placed in the desktop or "virtual start menu". However, it seems that the largest icon created is 48x48. Can this size be increased as these icons look fuzzy when using applications like Docky with zoom enabled? (or does this need to be changed somewhere else rather than

Counter Strike Source Won't load.
Okay so I have just installed Fedora 16 64-bit. Coming from a Ubuntu user I'm well aware that counter strike source works great under linux. I've been trying to get it to work but every time I try to load it, it loads for a moment and then crashes. I have the proprietary AMD ATI drivers for my ATI Radeon HD 5750. They seem to be rendering fine according to the debugger. I'm currently

Dear OpenSSH developers,
first thank you for this great tool!
Me and a friend have experienced some seriously crazy interaction

not reproducable but as it left definite traces on the server and it
could be a serious security problem I still want to report it.
so the following happened:
