How does wine "detect" graphicscard-hardware
Hi,
To clarify, when I run World of Warcraft and go into Options to change the graphics settings I get this message on some options: "Unsupported for graphics related reasons".
So I was wondering if wine "detects" the graphics hardware and make some kind of registry entry with that information of some sort? Or how does that work?
Is it possible to change that information so

How can I install Wine on a computer without internet access
Hi,
Couldn't find the answer searching the forum.
I would like install Wine on a system that has Ubuntu 9.10 but NO access to the Internet.
I have another system with Ubuntu 8.04 which can access Internet, but the instructions at http://www.winehq.org/download/deb
seem to imply that it would install the Wine on my 8.04 machine.
Is there any binary I could download that I could put on a

Package selectr: issue with the apt-get version, but not with the one installed from R?
Hi
I am facing an issue with the package selectr, where I get an error trying
to run an example code: css_to_xpath(".testclass"), gives could not find
function "xpath_class"
The issue arises however only with the package installed with apt-get, not
when installed from within R. I got a similar issue with maptools, where I
was not able to use data(wrld_map), and switching to

Secure apt
I am trying to add Michael Rutter's ppa to my
repository.? I cannot do this from the command
line.? I think I may be behind a firewall so copying
the key to a text file is my best option.? When I
search for the key at
http://keyserver.ubuntu.com:11371/
the search fails. Tried typing and
cutting and pasting E084DAB9 into
the search box without success. How
can I get the key?

http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt does a 404 error
Well I'm new here, so first, hi all there ^^. I'm here because initially when I tried to install the latest wine version on Ubuntu 9.04, I was following the instructions and I saw a 404 error. I saw also a lot of post relating 404 errors, but they were user-side errors.
So I checked it myself, and I saw that putting http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt on the browser bar makes it give a

IMPORTANT: APT repo temporary switched off
TL;DR: APT repo switched off due to excessive load / traffic
Recently we realized that APT repo generates almost 95% of I/O on
llvm.org and more than 40% of network bandwidth alone. During last 2
weeks the main services on llvm.org (svn, git, bugzilla) had serious
problems with overall connectivity.
We decided to temporary switch APT repo off to see if this would help.
Stay tuned for updates.

Ubuntu packages and broken link in docs
Hi,
Two things:
1. Does anyone know of a good PPA with updated packages of Dovecot for
Ubuntu? "For the latest Dovecot for latest Ubuntu LTS see Xiaoka APT
Repository. (Outdated. Could someone provide a ppa for latest stable
Dovecot, please?)"
2. On the http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PrebuiltBinaries#Ubuntu page there
is a link to a supposedly outdated PPA, the ppa page now redirects to
