select text using only the keyboard
I am using R 1.6.1 on Windows. I usually write/edit code in the R console,
and when I get it working right, copy and paste it to a text file for later
use. In Splus for Windows, this could be done easily using just the
keyboard, with up-arrow, shift-end or shift-home, ctrl-c, etc.
But in R, the shift key doesn't select text. The only way I can select text
in R is with the mouse. Does

4.10.2 not connecting to (old) NAS
I am running the PCLinux OS (kernel 5.10.12) and it has recently
upgraded samba to 4.10.2.?? With the upgrade the connection to my NAS
units have ceased to work.?? The NAS is a DLink DNS-343 (old but they
work).?? I have five of them in my network and use them for secondary
storage so only spin them up when I need them.
My last access to the NAS was about a month ago before the upgrade to

Making Syslinux boot with missing keyboard, but not disabled keyboard.
Hello together,
first thanks a lot for your work. It's quite useful on some projects. I
encouraged myself to ask you a question:
Think I've seen Syslinux booting fli4l on Systems without keyboard,
where "keyboard option" has been set to "not installed" in the Bios.
There are lot of boards around, e.g. with award bios like those 486 UMC
based on UMC 8881/8886, without

ssh-askpass keyboard grab problems
We're developing a security application (http://iscs.sourceforge.net)
that uses SSH for out-of-band management. Sometimes we want to use rsa
keys and other times we want to use user ids and passwords. We noticed
that there was not an OpenSSH API that we could use to pass the user's
password and that we could not give it via stdin. We did notice that we
could set SSH_ASKPASS and launch

whacked keyboard behavior CLI
Hi there --- for some reason I am getting really weird keyboard behavior
on the CLI (no xfs or anything running). Centos 4.4 yummed up.
For example if i type "root" to login, I get "rot" or sometimes
"roooooot". Then other times I will have to press a key like 3 times to
get a double character.
Now at first I thought maybe it was the keyboard, but it seems to

way to disable keyboard and mouse ports
Is there a way to disable the keyboard and mouse ports?
I have a machine in a public area running an application
that no-one needs to touch.
However, someone could come up and plug a keyboard in
it and mouse and be logged in as that user (not root).
Is there a way to disable the mouse and keyboard so
only remote ssh connections will control the PC if
changes need to be made.

Keyboard Fails at Login Prompt
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I just setup an old box with CentOS 4 and I'm having a very strange
problem. The keyboard is functional throughout the startup process of
the machine. I get the login prompt and I get just enough time to type
in "root" and hit the enter button before the keyboard fails. I've
tried a different keyboard but still the same problem.

Booting without a keyboard
Everyone,
Is there a way to have Centos boot when no keyboard is present. I have
a firewall and another mail server that would fit into a closet a little
better without a keyboard.
I tried to remove the keyboard but the system hangs giving me notice
that a keyboard was not found.

Strange keyboard behaviour in WoW
Hello Guys,
Like many, I would like to switch completely to Linux, and be able to play WoW.
The problem I'm encountering is that one of the keys I use the most e.g. [?] is behaving stangely : I can use it perfectly in chat section, but it doesn't do anything outside it, so that I am unable to get it cast anything.
I use a very standard swiss keyboard, "standardly connected"
