USB ports on Lenovo T400 do not work after a suspend/resume
Hi, FreeBSD-9 works fine on this Lenovo T400 - except that suspending with no USB devices plugged in result in no ports working after resume. If I have a device plugged in during suspend - on any port - then all the ports work fine after resume. I've attached usbconfig and acpidump output. here's what is logged in the kernel buffer during suspend and resume: Her'es the suspend:

C6: Suspend on laptop close doesn't work
Hello, I've been running Fedora on my Lenovo X61s laptop for many (Fedora) generations. Fedora 15, however, was not my cup of tea, so I've decided to wipe out Fedora, and do a clean install of CentOS 6 (x86_64). Everything works OK, except that the laptop does not suspend when I close the lid. I've checked the settings in "Power Management", and it is set to suspend when

STABLE/9 SMP ACPI suspend/resume - video mode not being restored
Hi, I'm toying with the SMP/i386 ACPI suspend/resume patches in -9. Thanks so much for this! I've noticed though that the video backlight stays off after resume. A common problem on -9, so I set hw.acpi.reset_video=1. That restores the backlight. However, the video mode isn't restored. I have my console set to VGA_80x60 and the resume seems to set it up "wrong". I get half

CentOS on new Thinkpads
Is anyone running CentOS on a newish Thinkpad? I have been using Linux as my primary workstation since about 97 and it seems like using Linux as a desktop has slipped over the years. After the Gnome desktop dumb-down, I have been nursing CentOS 6.8 on a 5 yo Toshiba. So I was hoping that someone has some recent real-world experience with new Thinkpads. So is anyone running a new Thinkpad? What

CentOS 5.0 suspend to disk (hibernate)
The RHEL 5 release notes for their desktop version claim "Improved ACPI support with features such as suspend to disk" but this isn't working with CentOS 5. I've installed all the packages and updates for CentOS 5 i386 on a ThinkPad T43 but when selecting suspend, Gnome pops up a URL to a site that didn't seem to give a solution. Gnome makes an entry in /var/log/messages

Create ThinkPad R61i laptop page
Hi, I just purchased a new ThinkPad R61i since my R40 died. I previously ran CentOS 4 on my old one, but have loaded CentOS 5 on the new one. I'd like to add whatever I can regarding my hardware. I followed the directions for adding a laptop page, but I was never promoted to enter any information after choosing the laptop template. I did login with my username first as well. The page would

I'm looking to replace my (old, creaky) netbook (Acer Aspire One D255e, a screaming dual core 1.6 GHz Atom, and a whole 2 gigs of RAM) with something faster but not too large. Sometimes (usually) the netbook is painfully slow. Something like a hi-res 14 (or 15) inch screen (full HD), minimum of 4 gigs RAM, HD of a half terabyte or bigger. I'd like to not have to go over 600-700 dollars,
