R CMD check: Uses the superseded package: ‘doSNOW’
Oh, I completely missed that one. It's very neat as it seems to work both on Windows and Unix. Thanks! multiple comparisons
Hello again R help. This is a simple question perhaps(laughing as I type) with a simple answer. Is the multcomp package appropriate for using with a lme built under the nlme package. I know i can get it to work (i.e report p-values for a tukey test) but i am not unsure if this is appropriate for a linear mixed effects model. Below is the code i used lmm1 <- lme(asinh(density_recruit) ~

R CMD check: Uses the superseded package: ‘doSNOW’
The CRAN package snow is superseded by the parallel package which is distributed with R since version 2.14.0. Here are the release notes \item There is a new package \pkg{parallel}. It incorporates (slightly revised) copies of packages \CRANpkg{multicore} and \CRANpkg{snow} (excluding MPI, PVM and NWS clusters). Code written to use the higher-level API functions in those packages should

Absolute noob needs help getting and useing the right bits
We are trialing UBUNTU on my son's computer and want to load WINE so that he can use some of his windows programs - of course mostly games..... Our problem is that the PC is a standalone with no internet connection at this time - it will soon. We downloaded wine-1.1.28.tar.bz2 onto a usb drive and copied over, but we are such know-nothings about this that we are stuck. I have seen something

Wine unable to find DX9 / driver version?
I updated wine to latest git (wine-1.1.26-390-g31dab8f) and upgraded my nvidia drivers to 190.18. When I attempted to test some of the DX9 and 10 games I usually test, none of them seem to be able to recognize either my DX version or the drivers. I suspect that the drivers are the issue. Here is a relevant example from a test for Assassins Creed. xavier at xavier-pc

[PATCH] drm: Generalized NV Block Linear DRM format mod
Builds upon the existing NVIDIA 16Bx2 block linear format modifiers by adding more "fields" to the existing parameterized DRM_FORMAT_MOD_NVIDIA_16BX2_BLOCK format modifier macro that allow fully defining a unique-across- all-NVIDIA-hardware bit layout using a minimal set of fields and values. The new modifier macro DRM_FORMAT_MOD_NVIDIA_BLOCK_LINEAR_2D is effectively backwards

R CMD check: Uses the superseded package: ‘doSNOW’
Dear list, When I run an R CMD check --as-cran on my package (pROC) I get the following note: > Uses the superseded package: ?doSNOW? The fact that it uses the doSNOW package is correct as I have the following example in an .Rd file: > #ifdef windows > if (require(doSNOW)) { > registerDoSNOW(cl <- makeCluster(2, type = "SOCK")) > ci(roc2,

How do I disable kerberos?
HI. I have been told that kerberos cannot be running while samba4 is. How do I do this? I seem to have missed this on the how-to and system requirements. I have commented out every entry in /etc/services that seems even remotely kerberosish. I still get errors on kinit and host (from the how-to). I have googled until my computers are laughing at me and have posted on every forum I can find.

Hi Marek Thanks a lot for your rebasing work. Here is my report : - all my games that broke with temporaries patch (they were either completely black or lot of black screen flash every frame) behave badly, but in different ways : * etracer is very slow and often crash in ttm code [1] (I think this is an old bug that just resurrected, no idea why) * foobillard is very slow and still flash a bit *

Problems when attempting to build wine from source on Ubuntu
I am trying to build Wine from source on an X64 Hardy Ubuntu system in order to do some regression testing. I am having trouble however to build the dependencies for that. I already did these a while ago, but I re-applied just in case the instructions from this page for the apt repository http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb. I constantly get this error: xavier at Xavier:~$ sudo apt-get
