wine+wineasio under mac os x 10.6
I've been using JackWASIO and 10.5 Leopard fine, but since I switched to Snow Leo 10.6 I can't find a way to use wineasio low latency driver at all. Have tried to install some version of Wine (that comes with WineBottler) and a new CrossOver Games 8.0 but no luck: wineasio doesn't appear in the Audio preferences of winecfg. Is there a clear way (for someone who aren't in developing

[LLVMdev] Fortress project calls it quits due to lack of a decent VM
I thought this would be of interest to LLVM developers: The Fortress
project, which was an attempt to create a very advanced language with
implicit parallelism, parametric polymorphic types and many other cutting
edge language features, has announced that they are winding down the
project. What I found very interesting was that one of the reasons they
gave was the lack of a suitable execution

bestfortress driver establishes/loses/establishes communication and so on...
[As posted as Ubuntu Question #184284 on Launchpad]
Hi, I try to set up nut (2.4.3) on my Lucid (10.04.3 LTS) to make use of
my old but very trusty UPS (Best Power Fortress 660 LI).
Yes, this UPS is old (about 16 years), but with its third battery pack
last week it is as good as new. It runs perfectly well with Windows XP,
Vista and even Windows 7. But not so with Ubuntu and nut.

[LLVMdev] Fortress project calls it quits due to lack of a decent VM
One sort of questions why a company the size of Oracle, working with DARPA funding, wouldn't have the resources to design the virtual machine they required for the project... although reading the article they never do *quite* say that Fortress is being put down... just that the research group is winding down on it, the JVM target work isn't going to be completed, and the current

fortress forever doesnt show up in games list
I can install other hl2 mods and they show up in my games list and run fine, however whenever I install fortress forever it doesn't show up. I've even tried the shortcut that installs from the setup. But when I run that it just says loading source sdk base and nothing happens. There is no useful terminal output either. This is on wine 1.1.19. Help would be very much appreciated.

Slow performance with many 3D games
Lots of 3D games such as Team Fortress 2, Audiosurf or Stalker have very low performance in comparison to running on the same computer on Windows. What can I do to improve it? What developers have still to implement to fully support 3D rendering?

Team Fortress 2 gaminfo.txt
Hello, I'm trying to run Team Fortress 2 on Linux using Wine 1.0.
I tried starting the game from Steam, but it shows the loading TF2 window, then closes and never starts the game.
I know the game isn't supposed to run on Linux, but I have a question about gameinfo.txt.
I tried starting hl2.exe in:
/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/steam/steamapps\*user*\team fortress 2
folder, but it said I

Counter Strike: Source. Crashes upon joining game.
Hi. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 and wine 0.9.60.
I have got loads of steam apps to run including team fortress 2. However, when I join a game in Counter Strike: Source, as soon as I get to the team select, it freezes up, with the gunshot sounds repeating.
It then simply closes.
I looked on appdb and the main causes are alsa sound, and to make sure only alsa sound is selected in winecfg. I also

Awful, AWFUL frame rate.
Hey guys.
I'm very new to Wine. Very. I've pretty much just installed it.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 and upon seeing many videos on Youtube such as "Team Fortress 2 On Wine!", seeing it run flawlessly, and I thought I'd give it a go.
Now, I'm using the Dell Studio 1555, which has pretty awful graphics. It is a laptop after all. I managed however, with a few mods I could

Patch for the bestfortress driver 0.02
I could not make the bestfortress driver 0.02 work for my Best Fortress LI675VA,
so I have made a patch for the driver.
The reason was, that all responses are preceded and terminated by CR LF, but the driver would discard everything after the first CR
LF.
The following patch discards everything up to the first LF.
It also adds a debugging feature of displaying the accepted data (level 5 i.e. -D

[LLVMdev] ARM NEON intrinsics in clang
Hello Renato,
It turned out I just didn't do the cross-compilation correctly, and Tim
Northover already pointed me to a guide you have written on it (
http://clang.llvm.org/docs/CrossCompilation.html), so I will read that
before continuing with my efforts.
To answer your question I am testing on a pandaboard currently, which has
an arm cortex-a9 processor, which I think is 64-bit.

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: fix takedown in move_notify
move_notify is called by ttm after the the object is idle and about
to be destroyed. Clean up the vm list properly in that case.
This is not a problem right now, since the list should already be
empty, but if it wasn't empty, vm_put was not called which leads to
random corruption later.
With this fix, nouveau_gem_object_close can be safely changed to a noop,
forcing the vm bindings to be
