Tested incoming sound with new kernels -- RT works, Generic doesn't yet
For me....
The latest RT kernel, 2.6.31-3-rt works for wine incoming sound, provided you killall pulseaudio first.
The application I tried it with was Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
It works when setting either alsa or oss in winecfg.
However, the generic kernel, 2.6.31-9-generic, still shows a timeout error.
Conclusion?
Incoming sound in wine -- Maybe use the RT kernel if you have trouble getting

Samba 3.6.5, idmap configuration and WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
Hello all,
I recently upgraded from Samba 3.5.6 (the version contained in Debian Stable) to Samba 3.6.5 (the version from Debian Backports) in an effort to closer track the current development to try and chase some long standing bugs out.
I think I've resolved one problem but introduced another. I'm getting the "WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND" when I try to perform a SID to UID

Newbie - getting two local phones tocommunicate would be a good start :)
Hi John,
Try adding username=5702 and username=5703 to each of the configs in
sip.conf. I recall I had this problem with the Grandstreams.

Solving a tridiagonal system
I need to find solutions to a tridiagonal system. By
this I mean a set of linear equations Ax = d where A
is a square matrix containing elements A[i,i-1],
A[i,i] and A[i,i+1] for i in 1:nrow, and zero
elsewhere. R is probably not the ideal way to do this,
but this is part of a larger problem that requires R.
In my application it is much easier (and much faster)
to generate the diagonal and

SAMBA not broadcasting server info
Up until a few days ago, I had SAMBA running just fine on several
different systems, but very recently on of the server has quit announcing
itself to the newtwork. Smbd, nmbd, and winbindd are all running on the
server, and the machines on the network can all still reach the shares on
the system, but an attempt to browse for the server and its available shares
from a client PC does not produce a

Newbie - MWI
Sorry for the partial post a moment ago
With help I got two phones communicating - PCMA/PCMU was the problem.
Next stpe is to try voicemail. VM works fine, I can leave a mesage and then
retrieve it - but no MWI on the phone and no stutter dialtone.
I promise I've spent the requisite 4 hours + on google etc. but have really
no further ideas.
The setup is 2 Grandstream phones (latest

User is invalid on this system
Hello all.
We are running Samba 3.6.6 on a Debian 6.0.6 server. We made the upgrade from 3.6.5 to 3.6.5 about a week ago and ever since we have lost the ability to map Samba shares from our Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 clients:
Here's an example from my workstation (logging verbosity set at 10):

No Sound in Rehearscore
I am trying to use a Windows program called Rehearscore on Ubuntu 11.10. It is a program that plays the piano accompaniment to a musical to allow for rehearsal of the songs. I installed it without problems, but when I start the program there is no sound. I have other Windows programs running under Wine with no problems with the sound.
I am using a Dell Latitude D620 laptop.
Any suggestions are

updates to rpm/kernel-rt
Hi,
I am writing because I would like to know if centos will update the kernel-rt package from
https://git.centos.org/rpms/kernel-rt/releases
?
I ask because bz#1550584 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1550584 mentions "fixed in version kernel-rt-3.10.0-1063.rt56.1023.el7"
And the latest tag in "releases" link above is for kernel-rt-3.10.0-1062.7.1.rt56.1030.el7

Question about compiler-rt builtins targets
Hi,
Short version: Is it possible to enable *all* builtins architectures? How?
Longer explanation:
I don't quite understand how compiler-rt targets are decided to be
built while invoking cmake from the LLVM tree.
I tend to believe that builtins and sanitizers (the two big parts in
compiler-rt) are quite different monsters, but however they share the
same build decisions and (if I'm not

kernel-rt on CentOS 8
Hi,
We have just upgraded to centos 8 at my lab, and are looking to install
the kernel-rt. When we were on centos 7, we were tracking the repo at
mirror.centos.org/centos-7/7/rt. However, there doesn't seem to be an rt
directory for mirror.centos.org/centos-8/8.
Is the realtime kernel housed in some other location for Centos 8?
Thanks,
Geoff

compiler-rt linux-arm builtins/clear_cache.c depends on kernel headers
Hmm, I dont think that this is terrible. However, since I dont belive that
Linux guarantees the stability of its interfaces, I think that adding a
trivial test for this would be waranteed.

DirectShow filter for Speex
Hi,
I've had many requests in the past for a Speex DirectShow filter. Well,
the wait is now over, thanks to Jean-Francois Emond. Both source and
binaries are available from the "Other software" page
(http://www.speex.org/projects.html). Bear in mind that for now, only a
subset of Speex features are supported (8 kHz, 15 kbps).
For those who would like to know what's coming next,

compiler-rt linux-arm builtins/clear_cache.c depends on kernel headers
builtins/clear_cache.c depends on kernel headers.
It's difficult to ascertain whether it's mixing with libc headers
but if it is then that's a bug in its own right.
Either way, it's pulling in kernel headers for a single #defined
constant that's been part of the linux ABI for years now. This
makes it more difficult to cross compile for, in my opinion, no
good reason. So

Object problems with Generic and rematchDefinition

Let me try this again with some code.
I am trying to make a new object and it's not working. I get :

Playtones not passing sound to incoming SIP connection
Hi everyone,
I'm in the very early stages of rolling out an asterisk box at work, and one
of the things I'm setting up is a trap for telemarketers >;)
What I want to do is have a sipgate number in the UK here which rings for 10
seconds without calling a hard or softphone, then goes to a voicemailbox.
The problem I'm having is that Playtones doesn't seem to be sending any
