Application throws lots of errors
I am running an old version of Family Tree Maker for Windows (the current version does not work at all under Wine). Most functions work OK, but a few things just hang, requiring me to kill the app. If I run the program from a terminal session I get a lot of warning messages. I was hoping someone could explain to me what these messages mean. The complete message log is at

reshape is re-ordering my variables
Is it an undocumented (at least I missed it if it's documented) feature of the reshape function to do numeric variables followed by character? I ask because that seems to be the case below. > str(rcw) 'data.frame': 23 obs. of 21 variables: $ ICU : int 1 18 17 9 22 19 6 16 25 26 ... $ Q6.RC.1 : chr "SM" "JF" "IW"

Newbie:Family Tree Maker 2009 will not execute-Ubuntu Hardy
I'm new to linux so be patient. I'm running Ubuntu Hardy and have Wine 1.1.5 installed. After installing Family Tree Maker 2009 successfully, it will not execute. The screen comes up like it is going to start and says the database needs to be compacted and then the screen fades away. I decided to run FTM 2009 from the terminal and see what is happening. Obviously a lot of things.

metaflac crashes adding cuesheet
Erik, I don't know what abcde would be providing as tags, or why on Earth it would be importing that from stdin. Unfortunately, abcde is a bash script, and so not exactly easy for me to read. I haven't gotten any response from posting on their mailing list. I do get the same crash when running metaflac without the --import-tags-from, so I'm not sure this is the problem. Unless

Requesting Maintainer for Legacy Family Tree 7
Hello Not sure how I'm meant to go about requesting a Maintainer, but I'll try this method. I am trying to get my grandparents to switch from Windows XP to Linux (Ubuntu). First step, would of course be including all programs they currently have on there computer. So I need Legacy Family Tree 7. Any chance of a maintainer? Thanks in advance, Panarchy

How do I install in .wine/drive-c/program files?
I'm still a Newbie to Linux but have been climbing the learning curve for a year - now running LinuxMint 5 (Elyssa) and have installed Wine 1.0.0 which is in /usr/bin with about 20 associated files. Now I am trying to install a database configured for Windows - a CD of Sussex Marriages. This is displayed under LinuxMint as a list of files, libraries and an executable - which doesn't run

metaflac crashes adding cuesheet
Erik, The command used by abcde is metaflac --no-utf8-convert --import-cuesheet-from=/home/me/Audio/abcde.50107806/cue-50107806.txt --import-tags-from=- /home/me/Audio/abcde.50107806/track1.flac but I get the same result re-trying without the --no-utf8-convert and -no-utf8-convert. Newbie: Data reading problem
Hello everybody, I'm a new R user and I've got some difficulties to find the right way to read data files. My problem is the following: I have dayly records of different devices (they all have their own name) during a time period (let's say one year). Each device records 6 fields. I would like to consider that one "fellow" is the recording of one to six fields for one

Upgrading LLVM's minimum required CMake version
It is curious to me that we had so much push back about moving host-compiler versions, yet so little on the cmake versions. In my opinion, we need to have a unified ‘dependency age’ policy. Cmake 3.13.4 was released about 18 months ago, so unless we’re willing to move our GCC version to 8.3 JUST as easily, this seems like a horrific double standard. From: llvm-dev <llvm-dev-bounces at
