New winetricks 20110417: new verbs braid braid_demo cod5_waw deadspace dotnet20sp2 dragonage_ue mise popfs splitsecond splitsecond_demo spore
Another fortnight, another Winetricks.
This release fixes a handful of bugs, and adds a handful of games
(or, really, ports them from wisotool). It also brings back the old
verb dotnet20sp2, since that seems to work with wine-1.3.18
(please let me know if it's useful).
It also adds a rudimentary gui to prompt for Steam username and password,
cleans up the --help message, and improves mac and

Another two months, another winetricks release. (So much for
release early, release often :-)
Highlights:
- fixes a bunch of verbs whose download URLs had changed, especially
vcrun2005 and vcrun2008.
- fixes the annoying "unexpanded variable" error which happened when
running old wine with a new wineprefix.
- brings back gog support (though without automated download for now;

using signed certificates for TLS/SSL
Hi,
I have, in one customer, a web server running on a Verisign-signed
certificate SSL certificate. Everything works fine, IE and Firefox
connects on https without asking anything, which usually happens on
self-signed certificates. I'm trying to use that certificate on dovecot,
but clients (Thunderbird basically) keeps saying the certificate is not
valid.

Thanks Ralph, i?ll look into that.
I think let?s encrypt uses certbot though and it can?t do email certificates (although i?m sure i can convert the cert i get from let?s encrypt, i?ll look into it.

FreeBSD Puppet 2.6.1 odd core-dump
Hi,
I have a couple of FreeBSD-servers that I try to manage using puppet.
I''m just trying it out at the moment and have just deployed 5 new
boxes (from PXE and scripted installation so supposedly they are all
identical except for the name and ip-addresses). On two of the servers
I get the error-messages at the bottom of the post. The first error-

I can't see any security advantages of a self signed cert. If the keypair is generated locally (which it should) a certificate signed by an external CA can't be worse just by the additional signature of the external CA.
Better security can only be gained if all users are urged to remove all preinstalled trusted CAs from their mail clients (which seems impractical). Else an attacker could

JUST A COUPLE OF NUBBY QUESTIONS BETWEEN ME AND FREEDOM
1. What does ~ mean? cd ie. "~/.wine/drive_c/"
2. Steam runs. Hurray. But I can't chat with friends. I can see their messages, but not mine. I assume they never get them because they never say anything more.
3. I launch TF2, I get the valve logo, source logo, then BAM back to desktop. No error boxes. And my screen resolution stays "minimized" to what tf2 was
