K/Ubuntu 11.04 and XEN 4.1 - Possible?
Ok running Kubuntu 11.04, is it possible to get XEN 4.1 installed to virtual a laptop running Kubuntu ? I seriously dont want to use Vbox or KVM, and need to run other OS for development, so XEN virtualization on a 8 core laptop with 16 gig memory seem the best bet for mobile development _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

[PATCH] xl: fix UUID reporting with xl list -l
Hi, if there is no UUID specified in the config file, we generate one during the _parsing_ process. Since xl list -l parses the config file again, the UUID will be generated again in this case and the reported version does probably not match the used one. Fix this by retrieving the UUID from dominfo (like xl list -v does). Signed-off-by: Andre Przywara <andre.przywara@amd.com> Regards,

[PATCH] xl: xl.conf(5): correct advice re autoballooning vs. dom0_mem

The advice was backwards, you should really disable autoballoon if you use dom0_mem. Also add a reference to the command-line docs.

[PATCH] xl: extend autoballoon xl.conf option with an "auto" option
From: David Vrabel <david.vrabel@citrix.com> autoballoon=1 is not recommened if dom0_mem was used to reduce the amount of dom0 memory. Instead of requiring users to change xl.conf if they do this, extend the autoballoon option with a new choice: "auto". With autoballoon="auto", autoballooning will be disabled if dom0_mem was used on the Xen command line. For

xl support
Hi folks The current package in unstable is able to use xl. It is still a bit edgy but seems to work. Because the old xm with xend and xl clashs and one should only use one, this needs some more setup to provide a proper upgrade path. I propose the following: - Add a script "xen" that wraps xl and xm depending on the config for use by all the scripts. Most parts are command line

Kubuntu and Wine Problems
I have run into a few problems in getting applications to work with Kubuntu. I'm running Kubuntu 9.04 and Wine 1.1.23. If installing an application, I get errors during the process and the installation is aborted. If just running certain executables, the Wine Loader shows up in the task bar but the disappears after a few seconds without the application running. I was able to install Call

xm list vs. xl list: more differences?
I see that "xl list" shows a domain waiting idly for console input as "r", whereas "xm list" shows the same domain as "b". I also see that the State field for "xl list" contains only three characters (e.g. "r--"), whereas "xm list" shows six (e.g. "-b----"). Is this expected/intended (e.g. "r" in xm list

Well it's certainly a bug but it is hard to say if it is upstream or if it is caused by (perhaps partially incomplete) backports in the packaging. Before reporting upstream it would ideally be reproduced with either the latest 4.2.x or the development branch. Do you have

problems with xl (libxenlight)
Since new version of xen use xl as the default toolstack to manage xen, I've met a lot of problems. 1. xl has no commands such as start and clone, which is confusing. How can I bring a vm back after I shutdown it? 2. Each time I use 'xl shutdown domid' it comes into "PV control interface not available: external graceful shutdown not possible.
