Good morning, thank you for your informations! I'll try them one by one. But as I can see now, I have to change my ways - batch-files are a maybe the best alternative, that I haven't thought of! Thank you very much! Greetings zuhans Gert van den Berg schrieb: > On Mon, Aug 3, 2009 at 00:02, zuhansh at mailpost.at<zuhansh at mailpost.at> wrote: > >> hello,

Whenever I open Microsoft Word (2003), I get this warning two times---and then must manually 'OK' it twice before I can proceed in Word (a pain to do):   "The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'R.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again."   Perhaps I linked Word

Office 2007 programs create .lnk files
Hi, I am using Wine 1.3.20 to run the Office 2007 suite and it works almost perfectly. But each time I open an Office file (docx, xlsx, ...) a .lnk is created even if I do not press "Save". Another .lnk is create on exit. And a few others when I save the document as far as I can tell. They are all created in the current directory. This problem looks a lot like bug 15480 - Saving files

problem with scannedonly vfs
Hi, I'm using Samba 4.1.6 (version included in last Ubuntu LTS version). I've some directories in a share. One of them has an exe file. In root of my share I've a lnk file to this exe. So I've: /home/share/IntegrDom/IntegrDom.exe and /home/share/Install_Client_Scribe.lnk (which is a link to /home/share/IntegrDom/IntegrDom.exe). This point is important, if I remove this lnk

Wine menus - rebuilding, deleting
Hi I have a few questions about Wine's menu handling: 1. Is there some kind of command that will build a wine menu based on all the files in the standard locations (Start menu and Desktop)? This would be useful for rebuilding the Wine menu after deleting it. (Since deleting the menu entries belonging to a single prefix is not easy) winemenubuilder seem to take only single shortcuts as

Executing shortcut (.lnk) files?
Is it possible to execute a program using the shortcut files (aka .lnk) that are generated for the Start Menu et. al? I realize that many linux distros populate the Gnome and/or KDE menu automatically, but it would be nice to be able to launch a shortcut from the command-line. Is that currently possible, or does some parser need to be created? Thanks, - Dave

.lnk files
On some wine builds when I open and closed a file from within my app, Wine creates .lnk shortcut files for the opened files. Why does wine create them and how do I tell Wine not to create them?

Difference between samba 2.0.0beta4 and NT4.0 ?
Hi Samba-gurus, I have a problem with samba 2.0.0beta4 on solaris 2.5.1 (samba 1.9.18p10 behaves the same) : 1. I have a ordinary text-file on a samba-share (foo.txt). NT4.0 sees the samba-share (\\sun100\tmp) as a netdrive with the letter K:. I've done a 'net use k: \\sun100\tmp'. 2. I can doubleclick in NT4.0-explorer on foo.txt and notepad comes up correctly. 3. Scraping and saving.
Hi, I''m working to scrape and save some ebooks. Mechanize has been wonderful so far. The link I''m having trouble with is this one. http://www.webscription.net/SendZip.aspx?SKU=0671578499&ProductID=379&format=H When I click that in the browser it saves it to a file named H_1632.zip. How do I get that name from the page. I suspect to save this to a file I would just do

roaming profile not uploaded correctly when logging out for the first time
I have a strange issue with roaming profiles. It only happens for users which has no roaming profile on a Samba server yet. When a user logs out for the first time, some files can't be copied from: C:\Documents and Settings\username\SendTo\ to a profiles directory on the server. (Files like 31/2Floppy(A).lnk, some *.tmp files etc.). Only very rarely, a first-time logout process happens

Recovering Icons
So I upgraded my computer, and did a clean install of Ubuntu 9.04 To prevent myself from having to install all my wine apps, i just copied my .wine folder over to the new install. I should note that this worked like a charm and I thought it was too easy to be true at first. However, I am having the problem where I cannot find the icons for my desktop. I am wondering if these icons are stored

Smth. about "Icon=" option in .desktop files created by WINE
When I install some Win32 application using WINE, it creates associated menu item file for it, located at ~/.local/share/applications/wine/Programs/***Program title***/***Program shortcut.desktop***. Well, inside this file I see option named "Icon", where path to some icon is set. Sometimes this path points to some PNG image file, but sometimes it points to something I don't have a

Wine menu items?
Had a previous problem with a program not installing, in Wine, correctly, so I uninstalled Wine, but had to manually delete the Wine menu items in the Gnome 'Applications' menu list. After reinstalling Wine, the menu items did not install again. I can manually add the items to the Gnome 'Applications' menu, but do not know what the true names of the Wine applications that are
