Wine and ePSXe 1.7.0 command line issue.
I've been wondering about this for a while. I use the windows version of ePSXe because the linux version is still at 1.6.0 which has some issues with Chrono Cross that 1.7.0 fixes. Anyway. It works pretty well in wine most of the time but there's one problem I've been having. Whenever I start it by double clicking the ePSXe.exe from a gui file manager it runs just fine. However, if I

EPSXE under WINE.
Hello. This thread is to help anyone having problems with using EPSXE psx emulator in WINE. EPSXE can work in WINE, only if you install directx in WINE. WINE alone does not have directx installed with it but EPSXE requires directx to function. You would need to install directx using any game which has "Install DirectX" or something similar. The redist packages for directx found online

Wine Crash and Total Failure
I tried using wine to run World Book off of its CD on Linux. Then I made the mistake of trying to run it as an admin (Don't jump on me about that. I didn't know the dangers of running wine as an admin [Embarassed] ). It came up with a message when I ran it in the terminal saying "wine has crashed. Please clear ________ and reinstall." That's all I could read. I don't

DInput/Gamepad issue with ePSXe.
I have a standard PS1 controller hooked up via a radioshack PSX to USB converter. For some reason, only the Up and Left buttons on the D-Pad work. Here's the error output. err:dinput:JoystickAImpl_Unacquire Failed to set autocenter to ffff: 9 Bad file descriptor

Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad
Hi, I have a problem with this particular gamepad. I calibrated it under linux with jscal and it is working OK. But now I want to play FIFA with it and fifa don't detect it as Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad but as controler. I found wine registry tips and followed their guide for DirectInput but I have a problem because command specified there doesn't give the expected output: Code:

Gamepad Support
Hello, I have a big problem: I recently bought a gamepad (Speedlink) which is perfectly supported by Mafia - The city of Lost Heaven. But now, I tried it with several other games (18 wheels of steel, Farming Simulator 2011), but it is not recognized. Farming Sim 2011 doesn't recognize any button or axis pressed. 18 WoS - Pedal to the metal does recognize the gamepad itself (even twice), but

Playing Rage (Steam version) with a gamepad
I'm playing the newly released game Rage by id software on my Arch Linux 64 bit box and runs quite nicely. I was beginning to wonder if it would be possible to ply the game with controller/gamepad? What is possible/easiest to set up with wine? I have an ps3 controller could that do the job or would it be easier to get an xbox 360 controller or a completely different gamepad? Any suggestions

Problems with ePSXe 1.7
I tried to run ePSXe 1.7 with wine, everything worked fine but after about a minute the entire computer would freeze. I have a ThinkPad T400 with integrated graphics (Graphics = Intel GMA X4500) with Fedora 11 64bits installed. Everything works fine, I have been on linux for more than a year and it's the first time I see a kernel failure.

Gamepad missing buttons
I am trying to use a Guillemot gamepad with PES6 but the buttons are not recognized. In kubuntu system settings I can see my pad, callibrate the joysticks and see the buttons are recognized, but not inside wine (only the joysticks are recognized). I have tried different combinations for the DirectInput entry in the registry but either I have not stumbled upon the correct one or there is another

Disabling a gamepad
I'm using a ps3 gamepad to play windows games using wine, and in almost every game tried (devil may cry 4, grid wars, trackmania nations forever), wine does some ridiculous thing with constantly making everything go left. (I imagine it's an issue with the left thumbstick mapping. I have tried with multiple PS3 controllers and can confirm it's not a hardware issue). Anyway, the going

Gamepad & Wine 1.0.1-2 on Debian Sid
Hi, I need you help. I've been reading and searching on Google for a while know to try to get my gamepad (joystick, whatever) to work. Of course that the gamepad works fine under GNU/linux natives apps, like ZNES. First of all, is not a gamepad or joystick actually, it's an adaptor that lets me connect 2 PSII joysticks in one USB port. The module I'm using is joydev, and I'm

A couple of gamepad-related issues
Hi there! I'm a big fan of the wine project, as it's helped me since day one with making my transition into linux a much more smooth and enjoyable process. I still use it even now to run many of the apps I need for school, and (of course) for gaming. It seems that with every release more and more tiny problems get ironed out, and it's wonderful to be a part of that process. One thing

Disabling a gamepad in wine
Is there a way to disable a gamepad within wine? When running a dinput application with "WINEDEBUG=+dinput" it seems that wine is using the "Wine Linux-input joystick driver" to find my gamepad as /dev/input/event7, and then later it appears that the "Wine Linux joystick driver" is finding my gamepad as /dev/input/js0, making my actions doubled in dinput

Gamepad calibration? Some bits not working...
Is there a way to calibrate gamepads for wine? I have managed to get my PS3 sixaxis working, but when I play a game, everything works properly but the analogue stick. If I move it all the way to the right or down, it goes in the opposite direction, respectively. Anyone know how I might fix this?

To owners of xbox360 joysticks..
I'm looking for people who have an xbox360 joystick to help run some tests so I can get information on implementing xinput for wine. The more 360 joysticks plugged in the better. Can you please go to the forum post I made and test: http://forum.freegamedev.net/index.php?t=msg&th=1980&start=0 Thanks, Andrew

Xbox 1 gamepad not detected with Star Trek Online game
Hello, I am having a problem with Star Trek Online game. I am running this game on an Archlinux x86_64 system with wine 1.5.3. Recently I decided to try playing this game with one of my old but still working xbox 1 gamepads. For that purpose, I installed the xboxdrv (the userspace driver for xbox 360 and 1 gamepads) and after running xboxdrv with the command xboxdrv --silent --trigger-as-button, I
