unable to start when WINELOADER is set to path of winconsole
Hi all.
I am wanting to run the following command from the shell ::
wineconsole explorer /desktop=ajay
Since I intend to launch Windows CUI executables after launching explorer, I use wineconsole; and secondly, I set WINELOADER to the path of 'wineconsole' binary. (These steps are in conjunction with the link http://www.winehq.org/docs/wine
But the application just hangs, always.

Is Wine just as good as CrossOver?
Hello!
I struggle to run the Game Gun from Wine 1.0.
I manged to do the following with CrossOver.
Through CrossOver 7.0.0 I installed DirectX.
In the same bottle I insatelled Gun.
I replaced the Gun.exe with a Gun.exe for a no-cd-crack.
This works fine.
Is it possible to di the same with Wine 1.0?
Best regards

Bug in WINE: Is there a chance that Crossover is free of that bug?
I use Kubuntu 6.10 with Wine 0.9.32.
I installed Dreamweaver 8.

Dreamweaver is de facto unusable under Wine because an essential
function doesn't work:
Pasting into the design view from clipboard is impossible.
My question:
Is Crossover "technically" identic to Wine?
Is there a chance that Crossover will not have a bug,

Hypothetical question - for the devs...
Hello everybody.
I know this is user forum - but I also know that developers "lurks" in here from time to time. So I would like to ask... what do you (developers) think is the biggest issue in wine development? Is it money? How much would wine development process speed up if Codewavers would start selling... let say, 10 times more licenses for Crossover then they sell now? Would it be a

Just wondering, I'm wanting to play yuris revenge and red alert 2 on my mac using crossover. It works, but is slow, and so following this; http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/cat/?app_id=4149;forum=1;msg=56763 it tells me to run wine regedit. but i

Need T1 crossover cable?
I'm connecting a T1 PCI card to a Nortel Option 61 switch T1 card. My

Thanks

CrossOver Linux Vs. Wine
Sorry to bother, but I can?t understand a lot of your double standards ...
On the one hand develop a proprietary product "CrossOver Linux", but at the same time cooperating with the project "Wine" that's free.
Wine could be today better than CrossOver Linux, but who knows, perhaps you are sabotaging and delaying the Wine project.
I Don?t understand why you don?t develop

CrossOver license
Hey guys,
I have a question about CrossOver and the LGPL license. I'm looking into licensing some software of my own and I'm not sure if I can.
>From what I've read the LGPL license doesn't allow any product to be sold if it's based on LGPL protected software, unless it uses the software simply as a plug-in:

R2WinBUGS and calling WinBUGS in Crossover/WINE
Hi there - I have a question for any of you who use R2WinBUGS to call
WinBUGS using the useWINE option in that package.
I have Codeweaver's Crossover emulator installed on my Intel Mac with
WinBUGS working fine if I start it from Crossover. But there is
supposed to be a way to start it directly from a command line, which I
could pass to the R2WinBUGS using the bugs(...,

How to set up different "bottles" in Wine, just like in Codeweaver's Crossover Office?
Hi all,
How does one set up different "bottles" like in Crossover office?
Meaning how do I isolate an installation of Program A from Program B,
when running under Wine?
is that possible? That's a neat feature they have in Crossover, but I
can't seem to find any documentation of how to do the samething in
generic WINE.

Passing arguments from the command line to apps on Mac OS X (Darwine and CrossOver)
Hi all,
There's a Windows application I've been running (called "WinBUGS.exe") on an
intel Mac OS X (ver. 10.5.5) using both Darwine and CrossOver Pro. My
application runs fine under Darwine and also under CrossOver. However, in
spite of being able to run these applications using either platform from the
command line, I still cannot pass arguments to the application. What I want

Wine (CrossOver for Mac) acting weird with modifiers.
Hi,
This probably seems somewhat reaching since CrossOver isn't Wine, but well, it's built on Wine, so I thought I might just answer here anyway.
I'm running WoW through Innerspace, which causes some weird problems.
With Innerspace loaded together with WoW it'll act as alt + shift is being held down.
Innerspace has an alias binded to alt + shift + t which will make WoW go into

Is Wine taking my donations and giving them to CrossOver?
Well I must say.
I certainly feel like a fool now.
I have been contributing to Wine for about five months, and was shocked to see a blatant advertisement for CrossOver, who take the hard work of those who have contributed their intellect for free and sell it for profit, on your home page.
I then discovered through your own FAQ that most Wine developers are employed by CrossOver.
Is this legal?
