Elite Force 2 Shortcut
Managed to get Elite Force 2 installed (had help from here actually) and the game plays fine. When I launch it directly from EF2.exe that is. I have had no luck creating a shortcut however. Every time I try (entering the correct command line) I simply get the following. > Elite Force II 1.0 win-x86 May 24 2003 > ----- FS_Startup ----- > Current search path: > Z:\home\griff/base

playonlinux - FARCRY2 glitch
Hello. I installed Far Cry 2 + the patch. I have suse 11.4 + KDE. The run button doesn't do anything. Right after I installed it, I use the autorun feature to get far cry running. After I reboot, I can't get the feature to work again. The start menu has far cry references, but they give file not found. The correct location: media\FARCRY2, it's set at media\cdrom. Question concerning creating .exe shorcuts.
Hey guys, I was curious about something. When Wine installs a program, that creates a shortcut after installation, it is usually placed on the desktop (as it would in Windows). So how I can create the same type of shortcut which will use the .exe's inbuilt icon; as Wine does? I know how to create a shortcut but i'd manually need to search for a .png file to use as that shortcuts icon.

fortress forever doesnt show up in games list
I can install other hl2 mods and they show up in my games list and run fine, however whenever I install fortress forever it doesn't show up. I've even tried the shortcut that installs from the setup. But when I run that it just says loading source sdk base and nothing happens. There is no useful terminal output either. This is on wine 1.1.19. Help would be very much appreciated.

Wine Executes Locally, But Not With Absolute Path
I have an uninstalled portable Windows .exe. When I type the absolute path, it doesn't work: > wine /home/ubuntu/appDir/myApp.exe but, if I cd to the application directory and execute it locally, it works: Code: cd /home/ubuntu/appDir/ wine myApp.exe I'm trying to include it in my Docky dock via a .desktop shortcut I've made in /usr/share/applications/. I don't mind

Re: Wine and WoW Cataclysm Patch 4.0 troubleshooting thread
I have the same issue, the game is actually working but the Launcher won't work (any type of private server I would try) http://i53.tinypic.com/1zxb72s.jpg Just a question I have : how can I backtrace it ? Or how can I use a debugger to see what's wrong ? Backtracing it means like running the application in terminal like wine application.exe ?

Bash Script Shorcuts for Steam Games
Hi there, I was just wondering how I would go about creating a bash script for Steam apps. I just started college in Pre-Biochem. and Pre-Comp. Sci. so I'm not far enough in yet (and midterms are coming up, how embarrassing) but the point is, I don't know how to create a bash script for steam apps. I know they start up steam first, then log in, and then get into the game. I'm not

[Fwd: Re: Response to R across the university]
Well, I downloaded the install JGR package for Windows and that seemed to work fine, after the installation I ended up with a modified R window which looked nice and uncluttered. Which I like. Very much. On the other hand, I cannot see how to launch the thing again once I have closed that window. There is supposed to be a launcher somewhere (JGR.exe?), but I have not been able to find it. It

VMWare 6.02 and Linux screen saver?
I have a user who freshly installed CentOS on their desktop. They also installed VMWare 6.02. When they click the mouse on their Linux desktop, the screen saver properly activates. But, when they click the mouse in their VMWare session, the Linux screen saver never activates. This has been tried for both VMWare Player and Workstation. I don't know if it makes any difference, but the

Accessing Windows network from application in Wine
I have successfully set up MYOB (accounting software used a lot in Australia) to run with Wine 1.0 (on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS). I now need to be able to access the data file on another PC (Windows XP) via a network which I cannot seem to get to when using the drop down list to find the file - all I can see under 'My Computer' are: C: - fake windows drive, E: - CD drive and Z: - Linux drive. WINE and certain Hardware
I have been trying to install WoW on my desktop computer but it keeps telling me that I have insufficient CPU in the wow launcher when it starts the installation program in WINE and then if I ignore the warning the WoW downloader crashes. First I'm wondering if WINE has any issues with quad core CPU's IM using an i7 860. and on top of that it has an overclock could that be the issue?

Automated shortcut generation
Hello, I have installed Wine 1.3.5 on two Debian boards. On the first one, it was a fresh install: git clone, ./configure, make install. On this board, when I install a program with Wine, it automatically creates a shortcut in the Application menu (OK, I know how to do) and more important, it associates an icon with the launcher (I do not know how it does that, neither where it finds it?!). Blank certain areas of a contour plot
Hi, I'm interpolating a list of syncronous accumulated precipitation observations collected over a number of raingauge stations sited over land, over a regular lat/lon grid using akima's interp(). Then, I plot and locate geographycally the resulting field with a filled.contour() and a call to map(). Everything is fine but I need to "blank" (in Golden Surfer nomenclature)

Dumping compiled module as LLVM IR bitcode after certain optimization passes
Hi, Usually we disable the llvm optimizations (clang -mllvm disable-llvm-optzns ) and then use opt to run the passes till the point of interest. I don’t know of a shortcut in clang (the new PassManager will make it possible to pass an arbitrary pipeline with a string, but not there yet). — Mehdi > On Dec 31, 2016, at 11:43 AM, Alex Susu via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote:

CentOS 7 : keyboard shortcut for mouse gesture?
Hi, I have a CentOS 7 (GNOME) desktop installed as a VirtualBox guest on my Slackware64 14.1 workstation, to fiddle with it. Guest Additions are installed and configured OK, and 3D acceleration is working too. In its default configuration, the GNOME desktop under CentOS shows an "expos?" (I don't know how you call this), a list of all open windows, when you move the mouse cursor to
