That was very honest of you!
I understand that you were not convinced by the ideas proposed, but I believe in them and I felt the changes needed were within my time limitations and my little PHP knowledge (I use zope/python

Unexpected timeout in rsync
Hi
I am having trouble with intermittent timeouts when backing up a largish set
of files from /usr using rsync. Approx 125,000 files, 2GB. Backup is to same
machine, from a partition on hda to one on hdb. I am using ribs 2.1
(slightly modified to ignore rsync error 23), run with nice -n 5 via cron.
(for ribs visit http://rustyparts.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=9 )
Typical error report is:

The discussion was about changing the forum to post bugzilla reports. Then Austin "invited" to send patches (implicitly about the forum) and

Call for volunteers
Howdy Wine users!
The list of bugs with downloads that haven't been checked on in a while has gotten pretty long (1,359! as of May 6, 2009).
If you're a moderate to advanced user of wine, please help by downloading and testing these applications and testing these bugs.
Be sure you're using a recent version of wine (1.1.20 or git) and testing in a clean WINEPREFIX.
Quick guide:

little fighter 2 vdragonballz 3.0 mod crashes on load sprite
I was trying to run one of my kids favourite games with Wine, alas it crashes accessing a null pointer, early on while loading one of the sprite files (not corrupted). I guess the program should be doing better memory checking but since this works on Windows, maybe Wine has fed him before some broken data.
Unfortunately, the terminal output doesn't seem much helpful:

cross domain cookies
Does anybody know how to access the domain of a cookie from inside rails?
I am try to integrate phpbb forums into my site and one of the things phpbb
does is store a cookie. The forums are at forums.domain.com and the site is
www.domain.com so i needed to set the cookie domain in phpbb to just be
".domain.com" so both sites can access it. The trouble is when using
cookies[] in rails,

PHP and Rails integration
There a few php solutions that I would like to integrate with my Rails
app. Namely PHPBB(No offense RForum) and WordPress. Is it possible to
use these in a Rails environment, and what kind of issues/stumbling
blocks would I face if I attempted to?
Thanks,
James

I think, there is a neat exploit in the phpbb2.0.8 because I found my home

PHPBB+Centos
I'm having a hard time getting PHPBB installed on Centos. We get the error
that The PHP configuration on your server doesn't support the database type
that you chose. We choose MySQL 3.x but get that error. Perhaps PHP4 isn't
compatible with MySQL 3.23.58-1?

When you set up phpBB, the admin can specify defaults.
They include "Make email address private" and "Allow members to receive
private messages"
The admin would set they defaults to "yes" and "no" respectively.
That means the member would have to take an action (change a setting in
his profile or on an individual post) for his email address to be

phpbb forum with rails application.
I would like to knock up a phpbb forum with a rails application.
I wanted to do this as I want to use ActiveRecord to crawl through the
user database in the rails app.
Is there a way to do this - on the same domain name and server...
Or does it depend how the server is setup?

Jason i think you have misread me
Im not saying that the phpBB system would have spam runing through it
Im saying that on this list serv someone is spaming.
They are not spamming to the list
they are spamming email accounts instead.
I have used phpBB and it works just fine both from
a user and an admin end.
i would prefer it for THIS reason
but there are still reasons i would NOT like to use it.

postfix pb with mass emails
Hi
I'm hosting a forum (phpbb) with more than 3500 users with centos 4.3.
The forum admins would like to send an email to its (3500) users. I
configured phpbb to use smtp (postfix-2.1.5-4.2.RHEL4.mysql.centos4) to
send the email.
I raised the max destination limit from 1000 to 5000, and made a test.
Here the disaster began:
Majority of the users received from 20 to 50 emails.
Looking at the
