Asterisk - Soundcard - Recording?
Greetings- I've got a curious project that I could use some input on. I'd like to use Asterisk to record some audio channels via USB 'soundcard'. When audio passes through the soundcard, Asterisk should grab that audio channel (CONSOLE?), and write it to a wav file. I'm perfectly competent with the dialplan portion of the recording, but I don't know about the following:

Wine USB sound is OSS only?
I have a USB soundcard that I have tried to run with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. It doesn't work unless I set winecfg to oss instead of alsa. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? How do I get alsa over USB? Thanks, Susan Cragin

MB soundcards and PCI soundcards
Here's a problem that I have uncovered on two entriely separate machines using the latest icecast2 and ices2 software. Even when the onboard soundcard is disabled, the PCI soundcard (which has been both a Creative Live! and an Ensoniq soundcard) is unable to accept input or stdin audio. If I enable the onboard soundcard everything works well and I can stream audio using icecast and ices. But

Two soundcards. Use both with wine. Problem
Hi, I have an integrated soundcard and I have just bought a new sound card to play UltraStar (open source karaoke) in the 2-players mode. This game is know to work fine with wine and the last time (three years ago?) that I did this, it worked without special configuration. But it was an older version of wine, ubuntu and ultrastar and now it seems not to work. The problem is that in the

No MIDI devices in wine
I'd want to run the windows editor for my guitar preamp (VOX Tonelab SE) which is connected to the MIDI in and out sockets of my soundcard. The program installs and starts without any problems under wine but it can't find any MIDI ports. MIDI works fine otherwise in Linux - I can read from and write to the sockets with arecordmidi and aplaymidi, but there are no MIDI devices visible

Isa Soundcard under CentOS 5
Hello, Under Fedora Core 6 I used to integrate the soundcard of my notebook with modprobe snd-opl3sa2. Now, after changing my system to CentOS 5, I could not find this module for my isa soundcard any more. # ls -al /lib/modules/2.6.18-8.1.1.el5/kernel/sound/isa/ insgesamt 24 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 27. howto bring a soundcard into a domU
Hi @all, I have many domU on my server and they work fine, some of them have their own NICs with the PCI param in the config. Now I try to bring a soundcard for asterisk into a new domU and have the following trouble: rz3-ta:~ # lspci 00:00.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 04) PCI: Enabling device 0000:00:00.0 (0000 -> 0001) EMU10K1_Audigy: probe of 0000:00:00.0

wine 1.1.4 and 2nd soundcard (alsa)
Moin, I am using a kind of VoIP Software (Echolink) that run perfekt with the build in soundcard. But I want to use my headset, that appears as soundcard 1 (hw:1.0). I can choose the soundcard in Echolink (default, external and system default), but this goes to the build in card independent from this setting. Can I configure wine to use the 2nd card? Or can I configure wine to use the 2nd

Pulse audo in 1.3.25+
So I used to use the winepulse patch for wine. (Yes I like pulse). But since 1.3.25+ uses mmdevapi for audio, that patch no longer works. That author points to a wine multimedia git, however, after installing that I have no more sound in any wine application, and the winecfg test audio says audio failed. How do I get this new sound server working in wine? -- Sincerely, MacNean C. Tyrrell

Strange soundcard problem w/4.2
Hi there, I'm trying to repurpose an unused machine (athlon XP 3000+) for my young daughter to use. It's on a motherboard with a VIA KT880 chipset and VIA integrated soundcard (VIA 8237). The card seems to be detected during boot time and shows up in the system log, but when I try to actually use the sound card within Gnome, there's no sound. The device is detected, but

Sound with headphones on: Streamaudio perfect but youtube and system-config-soundcard silent
This afternoon, I bought a pair of ear plugs (the large flat kind that hook onto my ears). Plugged them in to test and they work perfectly. I'm listening to streamaudio.com as I type this. However, when I tried to watch a youtube.com video (my wife exercise dancing) just silence. She had the same video on to test and the sound was fine on her box. Then, I tried system-config-soundcard and

The output of all the Winamp's can be sent to the same soundcard. We will just keep the sound

Soundcard software...
Hi, I have an M-Audio soundcard. All of the software on the driver CD has .exe file extensions and I can't get any of it to load in Debian Lenny. Will WINE allow me to install my soundcard driver software? Cheers, JOn.

ALSA: Have to start Rayman3 while soundcard is in use
With wine 0.9.49 and the versions before (.deb files for Kubuntu Dapper) I have to occupy my soundcard to have sound in Rayman3. After the intro the sound is reinitialized again for the main game and the device mustn't be released before it. My soundcard is a C-Media 8738 and oss is turned off in winecfg.

Voice Modem + Soundcard Driver
The problem with using Voice Modems is that they fall into two categories: 1) Hardware Modems which only have half-duplex transmission of voice 2) Soft/Win/Lin modems which are proprietry and don't have asterisk drivers Please shoot down this recipe before I waste any time trying to acheive it: Rationalisation: ---------------- In Australia and I assume other places, there is no

Dummy soundcard driver for Windows (OT)
We want to setup multiple streams using multiple copies of Winamp/SQRSoft crossfader/OddCast. We are guessing that somewhere between 16 and 24 streams may be supported on one dual-processor PC. However, rather than sending the output of all the streams to a soundcard (which may cause problems?), I thought it should be possible to send the output to a dummy soundcard driver. I was sure one
