ATI (rv350) + open-source driver + wine gaming issues
Hello everyone. I seem to have a bit of a problem running some 3D accelerated games under wine, while using the open-source ATI Radeon driver. My graphics card is Radeon 9700, and the open-source drivers overall work much better than the proprietary fglrx.
The fglrx driver allows me (in most cases) to run games like Temple of Elemental Evil (particularily) or Morrowind normally, but I can't

Unknown DCB 1.5 entry
Hello all,
Firstly, thank you for working on this driver, as nvidia support for older cards, like my geforce3, is becoming non-existent (and quite broken) today...
So, I tried to install nouveau, but I'm now stuck with this error:
(II) NOUVEAU(0): Found Display Configuration Block version 1.5
(!!) NOUVEAU(0): Raw DCB entry 0: f0003f00 000088b8

CentOS 7 on Dell Inspiron with ATI Radeon HD 6320 video card
Hi,
I'm currently installing CentOS 7 on a client's Dell Inspiron laptop.
Here's the video card:

Most of the time, I either have to deal with Intel or NVidia graphic
chipsets. As far as I understand, I can choose either the free 'radeon'

Using ATI Radeon X1300 Video Card with Centos 6.5
I have a ATI Radeon X1300 video card installed in a ThinkPad Advanced
Docking Station where the laptop runs Centos 6.5.
Upon Googling it seems that Centos 6.4 broke compatibility with the
kmod-fglrx-legacy driver and that the only way around it is to downgrade
X to an older version. However, the last note seems to be from before
summer and I was hoping that there might have been some

Does Wine use past the first 64MB on any video card?
Does Wine use past the first 64MB on any video card?
This question applies to all wine versions.
I have heard it stated before that wine only uses the first 64MB on your video card either in direct3d or opengl modes. Is this true?
If it is true is there a registry entry that can be added to make wine use past the first 64MB on your video card?
I apprecaite your help in this matter?

Intel i7-940, DX58S0 motherboard, Radeon X1950 Pro video card
This computer is my main desktop machine --- an Intel i7-940 CPU and DX58S0
motherboard with a Radeon X1950 Pro video card. It's currently running Fedora 11
and working just fine.
However, I have been slowly moving all of my "computer stuff" off of Fedora
and onto Centos, and this (and my Acer Aspire One laptop) are the only Fedora
installations that I now have left.
Does anyone

Video card
I'm looking for the highest performance 2d/3d video card that is
supported out of the box by Centos 4.2 with open source drivers. I
would need for both 2d and 3d to work. No tv tuner, tv in, tv out etc.
is needed.
I think my best candidate would be a 9800 series radeon. Any comments?
Thanks,
Steve

PA-RISC (hppa) video cards init failure loading the device driver kernel module
Not sure about the radeon issue, but
"DRM: GPU lockup - switching to software fbcon"
basically means "the CPU isn't able to submit commands, or the GPU
isn't executing the commands". Basically the GPU can only have so many
commands outstanding [well, command buffers], and we hit that limit.

Bewildered by Radeon x1650 Card - No Compiz, Blank glxgears, good frame rates?
Listmates,
No response from the suse list, so I am trying here. I bought a new HIS Radeon
x1650 card for my daughter's computer, and I cannot get the card to work with
compiz. I thought I knew the fglrx driver pretty well, but I am stumped here.
The card has 512M of Ram and sits in the AGP slot of an MSI KM2M board running
openSuSE 11.0/KDE 3.59 and compiz-0.7.6-16.1. All bios setting are

Dual video card, 1 monitor each (ref dual head) CentoS4.6 xorg does only 1 head
I need to start running a dual head on one of my machines. Eventual
target is CentOS 5.x. Decided to test first on my 4.6 setup (eventually
it will achieve 5.x). Both machines are fully up to date.
The test machine is 4.6, 2 radeon video cards. Searched the web, CentOS
site, even bugzilla. This bugzilla entry from a 4.2 system),
http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1875
had only a WFM response.

Fable crashes
I followed the installation instructions in AppDB but when I press New Game the game crashes. I'm using 1.1.15 in ubuntu 8.10 and it is reported that the game runs in 1.1.5. I tried in two machines both with NVidia cards (7600GT and a 9600GT).
What I get running from terminal is below. Is there anything I can try out? I've tried also the "safe mode" from Fable which switches off

PA-RISC (hppa) video cards init failure loading the device driver kernel module
Dear Ilia,
this page summarize all the possible options of the "nouveau" kernel module:
https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/KernelModuleParameters/
I will test the options that you have suggested as soon as possible.
Try a PCI video card is a very good advice because the
AGP/FX1(chipset) is on the top of the "usual suspects" list;
unfortunately the c8000 has 3.3 PCI slots
