Gnome-3 - can't drag menu items out
I've mostly been using MATE from epel when I use GUI access on CentOS7
because it works with x2go, but just noticed on a system with Gnome3
that I can't drag items out of the menus to the desktop or top bar for
easier access. Is there some way to make the desktop space useful for
more than pretty wallpaper?

Well for a long time now my wine menu entry in gnome has been gone. Most threads I read all say to fine the <deleted> tag in .config/menus/applications.menu but mine doesn't have it.

New winetricks-alpha 20110306: new game Crysis 2 Demo and seven others, new dll dinput, lots of bug fixes; ie8 now works
Another fortnight, another Winetricks.
Version 20110306-alpha has a slightly cleaned up gui,
a handful of bugfixes and sha1sum updates,
eight new games (crysis2_demo_mp, diablo2, dragonage,
masseffect2_demo, penpenxmas, rayman2_demo, sammax301_demo, and secondlife),
one new dll (dinput),
and one new setting (vd=640x480).
It removes ie68, which is no longer needed, now that ie8 works.
It isolates

Want to help Wine and prevent regressions in your favorite (downloadable) app?
Howdy all,
For Google Summer of Code, I worked on a project I called Appinstall,
which is basically an automated test framework for Wine. It works as a
simple shell script, that runs several independent tests of
applications, then parses the log files to make sure no applications
broke, or bugs were fixed. The tests themselves are written using
AutoHotKey (http://www.autohotkey.com).
The neat

Two servers One virtual desktop
Can two wineserver share the same virtualdesktop?
I got nearly to an impasse: one windows application (A) must run
continuously without interruption, while (B) is supposed to respawn
frequently and interact with (A).
Well, whatever (A) application is has absolutely no influence on
troubles, but if (B) is autoHotKey (..yes i need that stuff under
debian) it's execution times get delayed

using menu.c32 from ISOLINUX to display two menu....
Hey Guys,
I am trying to use the simple menu system to provide menus on my boot CDs.
For testing, I have the following entry in my isolinux.cfg file:
label linuxmenu
        kernel menu.c32
        append menu32.cfg
The option work as it should.
I am trying to display two sets of menus. At the bottom of the
menu32.cfg I have the following:
label 64

Menu issues with WeatherScope
Hi all,
In my continuing efforts to get Weatherscope working in wine, I've
noticed an issue with the menubar. (WeatherScope is available here:
http://sdg.ocs.ou.edu/builds/final/win/WeatherScope/WeatherScope-1.2.1.exe)
Specifically, the menubar is not normally visible while running under
Wine. I am still able to access the menus by clicking on them, but I
have to guess as to their position.

How to remove dangling menu items
I tried to test Wine for the first time, installing the only application that I already had an executable for, an old version of Seamonkey web browser. It installed ok, but when uninstalled, through wine, had some issues...first the unistall option did not appear in wine, but fixed that. Finally, when uninstalled Seamonkey, it left a second wine menu item in Gnome Applications menu. I have

OpenOffice.org 3.1 installation was corrupted-installed again, nothing in Applications/Office menu
I had a corrupted installation of OpenOffice.org 3.1.
When I used "yum remove openoffice.org-core" the response was "package
openoffice.org-core available but not installed", but then, when I
used "yum install openoffice.org-core there was a long list of
Transaction Check Errors. I then removed
openoffice.org3.1-redhat-menus-noarch which was in the errors.

Help creating a shortcut in wine
Can anyone help me with how to create a windows shortcut in wine? I
want to create windows shortcuts on a Linux box that windows clients
can then access. I'm trying to use wine to allow me to create the
shortcut on the Linux box. I'm using the wine-0.9.31 version of wine
on Fedora Core 5. I've tried two approaches, both fail.
I've tried using an autohotkey script. This script runs

Problem with PXE, menu, and ipappend
I have been using PXELINUX with the "ipappend 2" option for a long time.
To make things a little more user friendly, I decided to set up menus
(text menus with menu.c32), but they wouldn't work (blank screen and
corrupted menu flashes by when you hit a key).
I went through all kinds of combinations of options, and finally found
that commenting out the "ipappend 2" line

Japanese menu on widget are garbled (mojibake)
Hello,
I have problem that menus on windows soft under wine are garbled
(mojibake.)
I'm Japanese and I've just started to use wine under CentOS5 because I
want to
use English-Japanese dictionary viewing software.
Installing wine is fine both English and Japanese locale where wine
related soft
displays Japanese correctly even on menus.
But my dictionary viewing soft under wine has

Turning off Wine Applications menu integration
Hi there,
I've recently noticed that wine now has a desktop menu integration,
however it follows exactly the windows menu layout and this is annoying.
The problem with this IMHO is that windows menus are a sprawling mess,
this is part of the reason the freedesktop.org standard for desktop
menus was established in the first place. Having to walk a long set of
menus to get to what you want

Menu fix for firefox and blur
For some reason all mozilla and open office menus
are Normal type. This causes problems with all
plugins which use the window type.
This patch is applied to all plugins and seems to
work flawlessly. I am submitting it for blur because
the first window of all firefox menus are blurred.
I know its a hack, but at least it should be fairly
harmless inside each plugin. It is always marked

Lost my menu options again - KDE messes with Gnome?
This was a problem I had a while back. I lost the "Preferences" menu
item in my "Applications" menu in Gnome. After much discussion, the
following commands got my "Preferences" menu item back, along with all
the applications inside of it:
rpm -e redhat-artwork redhat-menus --nodeps --allmatches
yum install redhat-artwork redhat-menus
But...
