MagiC PC installer doesn't like wine
I've wine installed as part of SuSE Linux 9.1 Pro and it works fine for several windows prgs.
I try to install the Atari emulator Magic PC (because it is better than STonX).
Wine starts the installer of MagiC, Setup.exe, which gives the message "can't open ...
Setup.ex_".
Setup.exe works under win98 but under wine it looks for itself with the wrong extension .ex_

I want to know if a given element <- ('c64') is part of a vector<- ('c64', 'amiga', 'atari').

How to get started
40 years using every thing from Mainframe to Atari but I can not figure out how to Run a DOS/Windows program with Wine. I have Knoppix 6.4.3 and I have found something called Wine Configurator but I have no idea what I'm configuring, my program that I want to run or the Knoppix desktop? Because I am completely lost, can someone give me key-stroke by key-stroke details on how to run a

follow-up on previous [HELP] messages
Here's some follow-up on some messages I posted some
time ago asking for help. Wine works again since

[HELP] Fn keys:
This problem is still present. Here's a reminder:
I use Wine to run Stew, an Atari ST emulator, a
Winston0.5 derivate.
While using the emulator, I can't use the Fn keys.

Patches for compiling / using portable OpenSSH on FreeMiNT?
Hi!
I'm the current maintainer of the OpenSSH RPM for SpareMiNT (a
collection of RPMs for the FreeMiNT operating system for Atari TOS
based machines, see http://www.freemint.de/) and wondered if
there's any interest in including the patches necessary to compile
and run portable OpenSSH 3.2.3p1 under this operating system.
If so, I'll "post" them here, including comments on

[HELP] file access
I use Wine to run Stew, an Atari ST emulator, which
seems to be the successor of Winston0.5. I run it in
a 800x600 Wine Desktop, in managed=Y mode.
While using Stew, I can't access .ST files.
I "Insert Disk A:", then I choose the file in the
Wine file selector. I valid my choice and then: Wine
disapears (exit or crash...). I don't know if the
problem lies within Wine, Stew, or

[HELP] DPMS
Hi,
I'm Yves and I'm new to this list.
I use Wine as Win98 but without Windows, on a
ReiserFS directory.
Every once in a while, I try to run a dos program in
wcmd (unix compiled & launched). My main purpose is
to test Atari ST emulators.
Always, the dos program wants to access memory in
"real mode". There's something about the first 64Ko
of memory, then it always ends

problem when runing RCT3 demo from console
Hi, I'm trying to run Roller Coaster Tycooon 3 demo with wine 1.1.28. It installed fine, and when I run it using gnome applications menu shortcut, game menu is working and it crash when loading new map. But that isn't my problem. Problem is, I want to run it from console, in order to see what caused the crash, so I cd into the game directory and I use command like this ( env

Playback problems with T100P
Hi,
I'm seeing a problem when calling into my Asterisk server from a T100P
with PRI signalling. I'm hoping someone has seen this as well, however,
it's a little hard to explain.
When I'm navigating through Asterisk on an inbound call from the PSTN,
I'm getting a random 'noise' during the playback of sound files. The
best way I can describe this noise, is imagining a

Rep:Re: [HELP] file access
Hi!
A .ST file actually is a file representing an Atari
ST disk. As Atari used Dos format, I can do (if I
want):
mount /pathTo/file.st /pathTo/mntPoint -t msdos -o
loop
So Stew (the Atari emulator) actually does file
access, not disk access.
Still, I'll follow Mr Patel's suggestion, and try to
send the resulting file.
Yves.

Lock ups?
Hi there. I'm reasonably new to Samba but quite experainced with Linux.
The other day I decided to throw a file server together for my house. I
put together a Linux box with 5 120 gig drives raid 5'd in a rack mount
box and put it in the basement.
It's running debian and Samba 3.0.2a-1. The Kernel is 2.4.26.
I am then mounting the drive as a mapped network drive under a windows XP

Wine in kubuntu-9.04
I cannot get wine to run in kubuntu-9.04, on an x-64 machine. This is with the standard video drivers, nothing extra added. I have tried both the wine version in the repository, and the beta version from budgetdirect(?). Winecfg does run in the repository version, not in the beta version. It does run in the 32-bit version of kubuntu-9.04, on a 32 bit machine.
Basically, it won't run anything at

toasted ext3 filesystem under lvm2
I have a Fedora Core 3 system at home, that was running fine, but now
won't boot.
Someone shut the power off on it without doing an orderly shutdown, and
also I sometimes apply patches with "yum -y update" without doing a reboot
immediately afterward - I suppose either of these could be related to my
system not booting.
I have a lot of information about the early stages of the

[RFC] Backend for Motorola 6800 series CPU (M68k)
Hi All,
We would like to contribute our supports for Motorola 68000 series CPU (also known as M68k or M680x0) into LLVM. And we want to hear feedbacks from you
Here is some background for M68k: Motorola 68000 series CPU was one of the most popular CPUs used by personal computers in the ‘80, including some of the earliest Apple Macintosh. Fast-forwarding to modern days, M68k is still popular

how to compile a xen dom0 kernel the debian way
hello,
What is the current situation with xen on amd64? the debian/sid archive
keeps no linux-image-2.6.22-2-xen-amd64, and I was not able to compile
a 2.6.22 dom0 kernel with debian xen patches applied on my amd64 system.
I have linux-source-2.6.22 and linux-patch-debian-2.6.22 installed, and
followed the instructions from the workaround for

So far I've been able to verify this with Wine 1.1.3 and am about to test with Wine 1.1.13.
