Graphics Problem
Hello all,
I am pretty new to this and have wine 1.1.22.
I am trying to run the Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2, and it works, but most of the units display as white (makes it very difficult to play....)
On the appdp, one person said
"To avoid white characters in the game set the parameter "UseGLSL" in the wine registry to value "disabled". So the game

Hi everyone,
My name is Pascal Schoenhardt. I am working on a SOC project to add
XRandR 1.2 support to GNOME, and I use a laptop with an Nvidia card.
Therefore, I also use Nouveau.
First of all, great work guys. I am extremely excited about this
project, and I'm amazed by the progress you are making with such a
difficult task. I am posting this message to report my success with

Second Monitor left of internal monitor turns internal monitor black
Hi Ilia,
with 'xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto --output VGA-1-2 --auto --left-of LVDS1' it
seems to work properly. Thank you. Do you know about a tool which integrates
well in Ubuntu? Maybe a GUI for xrandr? The other option would be to use some
bash script, which also is okay for me.
Just for your information the outputs of 'xrandr -q' and 'xrandr --listproviders':

Problem with external monitor on laptop
I am running opensuse Leap 15 on an Alienware laptop. When I plug a
monitor into the HDMI socket xrandr shows that is disconnected. How can
I get the system to send an event or something so it will look and see
that a monitor is there. If I cycle power on the computer with the
monitor connected both monitors come up connected. The command xrandr
--auto does not bring the disconnected monitor

Adding a Registry Key to Wine
How do I add this registry key to wine:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D]
"UseGLSL"="disabled"
As it says to do at http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9432? In order to get Portal 1 working. When I open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine in regedit there is no Direct3D. I tried making a .reg file containing the line

xrandr or xorg.conf... help with virtual size desktop
I've come at this a few different ways on this list and others. But not
really getting a solution. Possibly there is none until some changes
are made upstream.
Setup: Debian Wheezy (testing) 3.0.0-1-686-pae
Video card: Nvidia XF 5700LE
Older P4 intel cpu 3.06 (single core)
(Using Nouveau driver)
My aim is to create a large pannable desktop either with use of

Setting Resolution Modes in xorg.conf
I asked on the Gentoo forums, and surprisingly haven't gotten an answer.
When I run xrandr, I get this output:
Code:
Screen 0: minimum 2960 x 1050, current 2960 x 1050, maximum 2960 x 1050
default connected 2960x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm
2960x1050 50.0*
I'm using TwinView with a 1680x1050 monitor and a 1280x1024 monitor. And I want to set up some different modes in xrandr. When

xrandr HDMI-1 and DVI-D-1 disconnected - External monitor not detected
Hi List,
I'm stuck how to get a dual head monitor solution to work with Nouveau,
running openSUSE 13.1 on my hp8710w mobile workstation equipped with a
Nvidia graphical card. Beyond the built-in WUXGA display, an external
WQHD monitor is connected to the HDMI port on the graphical card and/or
to the dual link DVI-D on a hp docking station.
To compare with SLED11/Nvidia driver running in

Just Stuck
OK, I did the deal and I am in the process of upgrading/migrating from
CentOS 5.8 x86_64 to CentOS 6.2 x86_64. But, I'm stuck with a gnome GUI
that only sees 1024x768. Under CentOS 5.8 it saw 1920x1080 (without much
work from me). The command I was used to , system-config-display, is gone
and I've read that xrandr is the replacement. I can't find a usage
document on this
