Problem burning DVD+RW discs
Good Day--
I've been backing up my essential stuff to DVD+R discs for quite a while
with no trouble at all.
Last week I tried backing up to a DVD+RW with no trouble at all.
This week, when trying to re-write my weekly backup, CD/DVD Creator told
me it could not write to the disc because it was read-only. Is there a
bug in CD/DVD Creator or am I doing something incorrectly. Obviously,

Supermicro & Boot Failures with DVD Centos 6.2
Eve.8ryone,
I have had a SuperMicro machine running Centos 5.8 that had been
progressively updated with yum-cron from a 5.0 CD install.
I upgraded the SuperMicro with more memory, switched out the CD with a
DVD and tried to boot to the Centos x64 6.2 dvd. My plan was to test
the memory before I added the hard drives, but I could not I could not
get the machine to boot from the disc. I also

Now I'm trying to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional on Fedora. And I can't do it. When the installation process begins there's an error message - ?A trial edition is already installed on this computer. You must uninstall the

NEC 1300A DVD-R writing
Hi,
so I just bought a NEC 1300A, primarily, because it allows me to write DVD+
and -RW. Using DVD-R discs (and currently no options to try other media, due
to shops being closed), I'm unable to write anything, using either the
dvd+rwtools port, or the dvdrtools.
I've exhausted all references to be found in google, which are in a language I
understand, so I'm hoping the list can

new laptop: DVD or Blu-ray
Sorin, authoring a movie usually refers to actually creating a disc (e.g.
DVD/Blu-Ray with chapter marks and what not). It's the step that comes
after you've shot and edited the movie, see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_authoring. As far as I know K3B, Bombone
DVD and DeVede are capable of authoring DVDs. K3B (version dependent)
should even be able to create Blu-Ray discs so that they

[LLVMdev] llvm (hence Clang) not compiling with Visual Studio 2008
Hello,
I have just updated my svn copy of the llvm/clang repositories after quite
a long time of inactivity, and found it not compiling on Windows with
Visual Studio 2008.
The incriminated file is:
llvm/lib/MC/MCModule.cpp
Where several calls to "std::lower_bound" are made, like:
atom_iterator I = std::lower_bound(atom_begin(), atom_end(),

Trying to install Visual Studio 2008 pro
Hello ;)
i'm using linux opensuse 11.1 , and wine 1.1.9.
Is wine able to run Visual Studio 2008 pro ?
it does not look so : http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?bShowAll=true&bIsQueue=false&bIsRejected=false&sClass=version&sTitle=&sReturnTo=&iId=16635
Which option would be the best for a regular use ? :
- mount the iso ?
- burn the iso and mount the cd ?

[PATCH] Add Visual Studio 2008 Prject files
I pulled the test directory from 2003, but everything else from 2005. The 2005 files have more ?cross-compiling? targets than the 2003 ones. I fixed the various missing files in the new 2008 projects (misc.c and one other other are gone now).
The only thing you could do which would make them more compact would be to get rid of the subdirectories under each vs-version. There is no real need for

[LLVMdev] Visual Studio 2005/2008 ClangDiagnosticsEmitter Patch
I'm in the process of trying to build LLVM and clang in Visual Studio
2008.
Building trunk of LLVM and clang fails because of an VC STL issue:

[LLVMdev] LLVM and Visual Studio 2003
Hi,
I have what I think is a simple question: Is it at all possible to build LLVM with Visual Studio 2003?
The "Getting Started with the LLVM System using Microsoft Visual Studio" document states that versions earlier than 2005 SP1 will not work because they do not support the C++ standard well enough.
Is it just some features of LLVM that require better C++ support and so building

RStudio Calling C++ Visual Studio DLL
All,
I'm a newbie to R and I am interested
in seeing a simple example of calling a 3rd party Visual Studio generated DLL
from RStudio. Does anyone have a simple example which also walks through the
preliminary steps of setting up the INCLUDE path and the library path to either
a DLL or LIB file ? I have tried to find an easy example, but thus far had no
luck finding an example using Rcpp

[PATCH] Add Visual Studio 2008 Prject files
What's wrong with a plain old .bat file, or even an NMAKE .mak file? Ship two files, debug.bat and release.bat, and call it good.
It is best to leave project-file creation up to individual users, in my opinion. MS changes their IDEs and project-file formats more often than most people change their underwear. The odds that any given open-source project will actually compile without any
