Running Wine in Window Mode
I seem to be able to run a video game in 1024x867 (what ever it is) as a window, by selecting the window mode button in the game. However, i can not run the game in window mode with a resolution set about 1024x867. What is going on? I am assuming i am missing something in wine or the game that does not allow the video game to be run in any resolution greater than 1024x867 in window mode.

Battlefield 2 Error
I have successfully installed Battlefield 2 using Wine 0.9.57 on Ubuntu 8.04, however when I launch the game I get the following error (It loads the splash, and loads a 800x600 window, and then the error dialog pops-up). I've followed most relevant instructions on the AppDB page for Battlefield 2, but nothing seems to make a difference. Error Message: [Image:

Re: Wine and WoW Cataclysm Patch 4.0 troubleshooting thread
I'm using nvidia-current for the drivers and nvidia-glx-185 (which appears to be the latest although I did see mention of version 195 somewhere on the internet). Can you post your xorg.conf, Config.wtf (or at least the relevant parts of it) and anything else that may be useful (glxinfo output?) please. I'd really appreciate it. Also, do you remember any settings or changes you did after

Wine and WoW Cataclysm Patch 4.0 troubleshooting thread
Hello, The WoW 4.0 Cataclysm patch landed today, and there's bound to be lots of questions about getting it running in wine. My current status is that I've downloaded the patch and installed it. I've got the new (original WoW) login screen graphic. Once I login, I see a new character background and then a "downloading update" message. Wine crashes moments later.

GTA San Andreas Issue
I trying play GTA San Andreas and it is returning " Cannot find 800x600x32 video mode". I worried so my wine Games pointed for a Working Directory that register a dosdevice instead of drive_c. Thereby I'm getting" /home/normal/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files/Rockstar Games/GTA San Andreas" path and "win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x177f6dc,0x00000000), stub!"

Setting Resolution Modes in xorg.conf
I asked on the Gentoo forums, and surprisingly haven't gotten an answer. When I run xrandr, I get this output: Code: Screen 0: minimum 2960 x 1050, current 2960 x 1050, maximum 2960 x 1050 default connected 2960x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm 2960x1050 50.0* I'm using TwinView with a 1680x1050 monitor and a 1280x1024 monitor. And I want to set up some different modes in xrandr. When

Playing Games with Wine while listening to music
I have this problem: When playing a PC game via wine while listening to music with let's say Amarok, there's no sound in the PC game anymore. It's like the sound channel is occupied by the music player so wine cannot playback any soundfiles. Sounds are working if I play a Linux game like Nexuiz while running some music via a music player (ok, completely different, I know, but
