Failed to load wine, winecfg, wineconsole, etc.
Hopefully somebody has info on this topic. I have just installed Wine on OpenSuse 11.1. I've tried to install MSOffice 2003 but when double clicking on setup.exe nothing happens. I also tried by typping "wine /media/MSOfficeCD/setup.exe" but I get this error X Error of failed request: XF86VidModeExtensionDisabled Major opcode of failed request: 135 (XFree86-VidModeExtension)

Compiling old wine versions in opensuse 11.1

missing symbols talloc_* (opensuse 11.4/samba 3.5.7-xxx)
I just recently upgraded to opensuse 11.4. basic smbd is running mostly fine (some name res-errors, login server missing, (can't connect to Domain service). Notably nmbd won't start due to undefined symbols: /usr/sbin/nmbd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/nmbd: undefined symbol: _talloc_realloc_array. ldd -r shows a bunch of similar undefined symbols (shown further below). my samba rpm

Trying to build opensuse 11.0 64-bit rpm for nut-2.2.2
I am trying to build an rpm for nut-2.2.2 on 64 bit opensuse 11.0. 0. Packages previously built for opensuse 10.x have to be rebuilt since opensuse 11.0 now compresses package payloads using lzma, which according to the opensuse 11.0 release notes makes 10.x rpms unusable. 1. I downloaded nut-2.2.2.tar.gz 2. I recompressed as a bz2 as expected by rpmbuild 3. I extracted and copied

How to enable SHA1 passwords after migration from OpenSUSE?
Hi there! I have recently migrated my old server from OpenSUSE 10.0 to CentOS 5. Almost everything works great, except for one thing - user passwords. In the old system they were in a form: root:$2a$05$9V.P3/KV2fd0r/O8hs0gNueaidF35edj3DL6skb32qZJNpvwVHiUO:12183:0:99999:7::: and that format doesn't seem to be understood by CentOS. When I change the password I get something like:

Error booting an opensuse iso image
Hi list, I try to install opensuse 10.2 in a VM over Xen 3.0.4. My method is to declare a cdrom disk as hdb pointing to an iso image and boot the VM which launch the cdrom programm. However, with opensuse, the VM freeze just after having boot on the virtual cdrom. Last message is : ISOLINUX 3.31 0x45688c0e Copyright (C) 1994-2005 H. Peter Anvin Loading... Then the virtual CPU goes to 100% use.

OpenSUSE packages
Hello guys, Nouveau's OpenSUSE Build packages have broken dependences. It seems that now it demands xorg>=7.5 but the avaiable in opensuse 11.2 (current version) is 7.4. As there is no xorg-7.5 compiled for 11.2, I'm running vesa driver by now. I guess that a hint on download page could be useful. Cheers, --- Luiz Angelo Daros de Luca, Me. luizluca at gmail.com

WoW runs *only* as root (openSUSE 11.1, GeForce 8800GTS)
Before I say anything, I should probably say that I do realize that I should not be running wine as root, however for the purpose of debugging I tried it anyways ... and to my surprise found it worked. 1 The situation First of all, this is the same installation, using the same configuration file on the same computer, etc. As a normal user Wow.exe does not even start (note that Launcher.exe does
