music.ibiblio.org: bad Vorbis comments?
Hi,
having inspected one of the files found at music.ibiblio.org, I realized that the
comments are quite poor or misformatted in the files.
I'm telling you, because:
1) I think it's great to have some free music
2) I think the performers deserve to be recognized
Generally, I'd put as much as possible into the Vorbis comments. Then you could
skip creating these index.html manually:

I can compile old wine from download page, but not from git?
Hello again.
The problem is - when I download wine - let say 0.9.53 from here:
http://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/system/emulators/wine/wine-0.9.53.tar.bz2
I can compile it on Debian Lenny without problems, however - when I use git like this:
git clone git://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git wine-git
cd wine-git
git-reset wine-0.9.53
git checkout -f
./configure && make depend && make

How to Install WINE on Slackware 12
Hello,
I read the README and the man pages and the User Guide.
They only say to run ./tools/wineinstall but it can't be found anywhere on my system!
I downloaded the package and used tar to extract it to my home directory (/root). I do not find "./tools" anywhere. Nothing in the documentation mentions the directory from which to install at all.

Program entries not working
Dear All
After various failed attempts at using Wine I have installed this from
the Mandriva 2006 DVD. I have version ?Wine 20050725?.
I have installed Paint Shop Pro as follows:
As a user I typed: ?Winecfg? and when in the configuration programme I
went to the Application tab > Add Application button > browse to the
installation executable: ?/mnt/cdrom/autorun.exe? > Open button

Hello all,
We (at ibiblio.org) are evaluating several projects and products for

cacti and awstats. I am writing because I would like users of this

packages and products. I would like details such as time for initial

IE with winetools (wine ver. 0.9.9)
I tried installing IE6 using winetools, this failed for some reason.
after several attempts i found IEs4linux, which installed IE5 and IE6
for me with no hassle, can i get winetools to recognise this install?
because it won't let me install other software at the minute, or could
someone give me a hand in getting winetools to work with the original
IE6 setup?
cheers!

SF site cracked ?
A new release, called wine 0.9.3, is available on Debian/Ubuntu
directory of the sf site. However, such a release has not beeen
announced : winehq.org still advertises 0.9.2 as the last release.
Is this a legitimate release with a late announcement, or an intrusion ?

If Wine isn't am emulator how does it work
Sorry about this noob question, but this is something that has been boring
me. So Wine is a compatibly layer that tricks windows based apps into
working on Linux. But isn't that what an emulator does? I know emulators
more typically visualize the hardware which uses more recesses, but there
are also high level emulators which just create the environment.
isn't any software that tricks a

[LLVMdev] Staged LLVM emulator
Were there ever any plans to make a staged emulator that only JIT's hot
functions (interpreting the lesser used ones)? Emulators such as this tend
to perform better when there are a lot of infrequently used functions.

[LLVMdev] emulator
Hi All,
I'm a real newbie to this so I have a few simple question.
I would like to make an llvm byte code emulator with certain special features.
So, I need an llvm byte code emulator that works out of the box if possible.
Does this exist? Is it open source?
And if not what is the closest open source to it.
best regards,
dacian

Newbie Question - Ruby terminal emulator for windows
I am new to ruby and rails, and am using the windows "cmd" terminal emulator.
It is all black and white. I like the colored terminal I see in peepcode
videos and the like.
Are there any terminal emulators for vista that will give me those type of
colored results?
Alternatively, and preferably, is there a terminal emulator for RadRails
yet? After 2 hours of searching, I have learned a

Difference Between WINE and an Emulator
I've got someone who doesn't understand that WINE Is Not an Emulator and
apparently doesn't get the FAQ on the site. I personally don't use WINE (still
being on Windows kinda avoids the need), so I don't really have the knowledge
to argue this much farther. Here's his latest point (formating in clasic
usenet style below), I need something simple that says,

I'm not aware of any work to implement this sort of thing, but it
shouldn't be too hard. We're
