Troublesome Toad for MySQL on Wine
Please help a wine newbie...
I'm battling to get Toad for Mysql Freeware working on Wine.
I've downloaded ToadForMYSQLFreeware_410220.msi
and run it with
msiexec /i ToadForMYSQLFreeware_410220.msi
It looks like it installs ok, but when I try to run it it doesn't start.
Can anybody help? This is doing my head in. I really don't want to have to install windows on my Acer

Visio2003 Slow rendering
Good evening
I?ve installed visio2003 with the lastest version of Wine 1.1.29. So far it seems to work fine, except when it comes to opening vsd files.
It takes forever to render and load all the vsd objects.
I?m using a macbook pro with a 2.6 Ghz processor and 4 Ghz RAM.
Does anybody have a clue why .vsd files take so long to render and edit?

Office 2003 Service Pack 3
Office 2003 retail installs and works out of the box. Horay!
BUT
I need the 3rd service pack to work so that PowerPoint 2003 is compatible with the new .pptx fromat is becoming increasingly standard.
The installer for the service pack gives the following errors. The first two occur hundreds of times.

Adobe CS3 msi bug: workarounds for 1.3.14?
The CS3 installer infamously dies with

Apparently, this bug is still in Wine 1.3.14.
Trying the winetricks as described in the appdb didn't help.

Wine on Tiger
I'm almost certain I installed Wine correctly, but when I try to get a Windows program working it doesn't happen. The program I'm trying to install is Arena 10 (a simulation program). winetricks vcrun200* does not install the overrides properly
In current git, when I attempt to run winetricks vcrun2005 or vcrun2008, the installation completes in console, but the overrides do not get installed in windows/system32. Anybody else has this problem?

DS3 in OS X Lion
So I'm trying to install Dungeon Siege 3 via wine setup.exe and while I get some of the setup done, eventually this happens in my terminal window:

hi new here...tryn to get poser 2012 runnin...installs good...gui...loads...mouse disappears...app needs to terminate....here is the log

.NET 2.0 fails compiling assemblies on OSX
I'm running 1.1.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.4.
I have searched about this issue and found nothing and people are running .net apps fine so I think this is a particular problem with Darwine (osx build)

Airfoil in wine
Has anyone successfully installed Airfoil in wine? When I install it (Linux distro: Mint/Ubuntu 11), wine complains about .NET 2 missing. But it seems to install this automatically without problems. However, the Airfoil installation "ends" with this:

Application Installation Error
I am attempting to use wine to run a windows application called
VideoReDo. I'm getting an error when I try to install the program,
however, and I don't know how to proceed. The error is:

Impulse fails to start
So I tried to run Impulse on my Ubuntu 11.04 laptop and it installed fine (or at least seemed to). When I tried to run it I got the working cursor for a bit then nothing. I ran it in terminal and got a error message about running the Windows version of Mono so I went online and did a search for the error message and found a file called mono-2.4.2.3-gtksharp-2.12.9-win32-3.exe and ran it.
