Registry key name for Myst
In the (excellent) Wine apps database, at http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=143, the instructions say to create a registry key, HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine/AppDefaults/Myst.exe, and under it, to > create a new String Value and set it to ... "win95" ... > However, it doesn't say what name to give the key. I created one, and called it

Printer Registry
Is there a detailed explanation of the printer setup in the registry of Modern Wine (0.9.38) ? I can't seem to find any documentation and I'm having some weird printing problems that I would like to resolve and I think the key may be in the registry. Thanks, Brent Davidosn

Adding a Registry Key to Wine
How do I add this registry key to wine: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D] "UseGLSL"="disabled" As it says to do at http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9432? In order to get Portal 1 working. When I open HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine in regedit there is no Direct3D. I tried making a .reg file containing the line

Registry entry for .NET?
Hey all, I'm trying to run the HakInstaller for Neverwinter Nights (http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/other/data/1076838606000.shtml ). Unfortunately, it requires .NET 1.1 to run. I have the SuSE 9.2 Mono package (version 1.0.1; I know there's a later, but this should be OK, afaik) installed; I've loaded the module and mount reports that /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc is mounted. trying to get RegAlyzer working
RegAlyzer is in the AppDB but I can not get it to see the registry of another hard drive. I can browse to it, but I get an Access Denied error. I have read about issues running Wine as root, is there any other way? I eventually want to replace BartPE with an Ubuntu LiveCD, but I must be able to remove registry entries.

Cleaning up a WINE install.
I was installing a game, and I made the mistake of agreeing to install DirectX. I'm guessing this can screw up your WINE. Is there any way to clean up my WINE after doing something like that without having to reinstall all my software? Owen Stairs

Registry entries
Can anyone point me at a good doc on farting about with the registry? Or do you feel like giving me the fool's guide? I have large tracts of registry entries to stuff in, and adding them via Edit/new in regedit is an absolute PITA and unworkably slow. I have files from exported from a win98 registry (via windoze regedit) with the correct info. I need to add because programs are not finding

Registry
Hi, I have an idea and I dont know if its bad or not, so please tell me ;o) There're some windows based applications I need to run but they do need some registry entries. If I choose to export my whole windows registry and import it to wine's registry, should it make wine crash/die/unworkable? MBJr.

Warcraft 3 - "no program start menu found"
Has anyone had any luck installing Warcraft 3? All I get is a dialog saying "No program start menu found"... I tried creating ~/.wine/drive_c/Documents and Settings/All Users/Start Menu/Programs, but that had no effect... perhaps there's a registry key I need to add? Thanks!

Font confusion
In my attempts to get Fractal Mapper (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iAppId=3117) to work I am a bit confused about the behaviour of text and fonts. The application's documentation says you should be able to use any TrueType fonts. I see a menu with the fonts I have on the system. If I select one of them and enter some text I see the text as I enter it, but when I finish it disappears.

Do I need to defile my machine, or is there a simple work-around
I am trying to install Microchip's MPLab package (a set of tools for working with PIC microcontrollers) with the latest Wine from CVS (at least, latest as of yesterday morning). I've been running Wine for a while, so I already have an existing Wine registry. I don't have a Windows install on the machine. The installer (InstallShield) unpacks, runs, and then pops up a dialog

exporting registry to Wine
Hi, I didn't find any clue in the documentation, so I'm posting my problem here. I'm trying to use wine with a special prefix, whose drive_c/ is containing a whole Windows C: drive. The problem is that I can't launch the binaries, because the wine reg files aren't in sync with the Windows registry. I tried to "reg export" the keys corresponding to system.reg and

set registry value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver to "ClientSideWithRender"="N"
After reading this comment https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30157#c5 I'm wondering whether the registry value in comment #4 of that bug report should be made a default value for wine or not ? -- MfG/Kind regards Toralf F?rster pgp finger print: 7B1A 07F4 EC82 0F90 D4C2 8936 872A E508 7DB6 9DA3
