Hi I am trying to get Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 to launch under Kubuntu 10.04 & Wine 1.3.6. I'm using an Nvidia 8800 GTX 768Mb GPU with Nvidia blob driver 260.19.12. Be forewarned, I am new to Linux. I am using Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). I have installed wine (1.1.38) and I am able to run RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 both with and without a virtual desktop. I seem to be able to run a video game in 1024x867 (what ever it is) as a window, by selecting the window mode button in the game. However, i can not run the game in window mode with a resolution set about 1024x867. What is going on? I am assuming i am missing something in wine or the game that does not allow the video game to be run in any resolution greater than 1024x867 in window mode.

Hello, I'm having big trouble getting wine to work. What I basically want to do is get steam to work, now it even fails to launch at all. It updates to 99% and then it segfaults. Other games has done this too (rollercoaster tycoon 2, starcraft 2). Im trying to run homeworld cataclysm, but im having 2 issues with it. 1. I cannot set it to my computers resolution. It only goes to 1280x1024. I need to set it to 1680x1050, however i cannot set this in game. What to do? 2. the game seems to run a littly chopily. Is there anything i should enable in wine to make it better ? And if so where? I got 1920x1200 at 59.95Hz via DVI and 3840x2160 at 60.00Hz via HDMI at the same time with the proprietary nvidia driver. I get flickering on the 1920x1200 at 59.95 with the nouveau driver (it doesn't flicker if I lower it to 1920x1080 at 59.96). I have successfully installed Battlefield 2 using Wine 0.9.57 on Ubuntu 8.04, however when I launch the game I get the following error (It loads the splash, and loads a 800x600 window, and then the error dialog pops-up). I think I may have updated the tv firmware between when it worked and when it didn't. I wonder it it has to do with bit depth. I use lubuntu and it doesn't let me pick the bit depth so I don't know what it using.

Hey, since 1.0RC1 my 4th mouse button on my logitech G5 doesn't work anymore...all games that I've (BF2, Bf1942, CS:S, F.E.A.R) doesn't react when I press the 4th button...what is that for a bug?
