Fast clock under VMWare
Hi everyone, I have been struggling with having the clock of Linux VM's (including CentOS 4.6 and 5.1) running very fast under VMWare, no matter what I have tried. My platform: - AMD Turion X2 TL-60 - AMD 690 chipset with integrated Radeon x1250 (probably doesn't concern in this case) - Windows Vista Ultimate x64, all Windows Update patches loaded (no SP1 yet) - 4GB RAM - VMWare

winetest-latest.exe crashes on notebook, leads to reboot
This ain't funny anymore. On my notebook with ati xpress 1250 onboard graphics running Windows XP, the latest version of winetest (corresponding to wine 1.1.41) crashes after some timeout in the d3d9 tests, which leads to a hard reboot. On my intel945 desktop there's just some timeout. While I understand, that this X1250 chip is not really decent hardware and not supported anymore by Ati

Can I replace my Windows install with Wine, on my hardware?
I'm relatively new to Wine. I've been hearing about it for a while now. I've look a various comments about Wine on the net and I seems like a lot of people have got it to work for them. I've even used at work to run Inno to create a simple windows installer, which work well, although the User Interface was ugly (probably some missing fonts and things). I have a laptop at home

lmer Error: Downdated X'X is not positive definite
Hi, This is the first time I've posted, and I apologize if I formulate this incorrectly. I am analyzing data from a multi-region carrot variety trial. 35 varieties of carrots were grown in 3 randomized complete blocks in organic and conventional fields in Wisconsin, Indiana, Washington, and California. In this example I am comparing the heights of the carrot tops at harvest. In other

Hey, I have Darwine and it works well with most applications. However, I've tried to play Touhou 6 and 8 but after clicking the .exe files, Darwine says it has encountered a serious error and needs to close. this sample is very blocky, the older version seems to do much better and less blocky video. i'm not sure if my 1.9ghz 1 gb ram is the problem here or the encoder has hicups on this new libtheora 1.1 20090806 (Thusnelda). please advice how to fix this or should i use the older version. this encode was 2 pass with horrible output. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NDGY0EAL General ID

theora problems
Hi, I've been trying to use libtheora-experimental (libtheoraenc and libtheoradec) to encode a webcam feed in real-time, to be decoded also in realtime by a second party via XXX-IP, with - unfortunately - not so good results. I'm using custom written functions to convert from RGB8 to YUV420 and back and, although not much processor-efficient, they do what they're supposed to

Sangoma or digium ?
Hi all, We need to get better echo cancellation on an Asterisk gateway. Currently it has two TE410P (1st gen) cards. So would it be possible to just buy two VPM450M cards ? Or do we need to buy two new TE412P cards ? In that case a Sangoma A108d card would be nice as well ? What configuration gives the best audio quality ? Thanks, Leon de Rooij leon at scarlet-internet.nl

Why is this happening?
Today I installed the new development version of wine and tested it out with a Touhou game (Touhou 12- Seirensen). However, upon running it, everything goes black and the console appears asking me to LOG IN. I have no idea why this is happening. Would it be because of the fact that wine is currently in a development stage? Should I install the current stable version. Most importantly, does anyone
