It was asking wether I want it to be the standard browser and I agreed. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to register itself in this way. It is asking again and again when I restart it. The problem is, that I want to use an application which calls URLs

I remember, some years ago, that on SunOS 8 setting the latter it would make one thread only scheduled globally for the process, instead, using the first would

wine upgrade 1.1.9 broke program
I have a Ubunu 8.04.1 system that has been running a package under wine with no problems since last June. A few days ago I ran the software upgrade program and it moved wine from 1.1.7 to 1.1.9 and this package no longer works. When the program starts it needs to contact a server and that portion fails. Can someone tell me how to return to the 1.1.7 version of wine. Or alternatively point me at

using several wine versions from .deb packages?
Hi, Wine documentation says that it can be installed anywhere, locate its libraries and just run. This is certainly true for self-compiled sources which could e.g. be run from their compiled location. I wonder if this is also possible with pre-built Debian/Ubuntu binary packages. Normally, Debian installs exactly one version of a package in /usr/. Is there some possibility to use multiple

Installing multiple wine version from Ubuntu Repository?
Probably I should ask this question to Ubuntu forums, but nevertheless... Is possible to install multiple concurrent version of wine from the wine repositories? Reasons to prefer this to building from sources should be obvious, I suppose: easyness in regression testing, compatibility, installation/removing... I've tried looking to the build scripts of deb files, on the eventual possibility
